I like this thinking. Ozzie doesn't want to give the Tigers any break. He's going at them with his best. I'm sure Jake is happy to pitch in another meaningful game, hopefully he'll be able to leave his mark in Detroit.

I have a feeling our Sox are going to drive Detroit crazy this weekend and are going to keep them from making the playoffs.

I like that idea, but I don't want the damn Twins to win.

"You play to win the game!"

I hate the Twins, but you got to try and screw Detroit.

Let's do to the Tigers what they failed to do to us last year.

I love it. Ozzie putting his money where his mouth is. He's showing that he still has pride in himself and his team, and that he isn't going to step aside and let anyone walk into the playoffs. I want the Tigers to make the playoffs more than the Twins, but they had better ****ing earn it.

Right on, Boondock! I don't want the Sox being a cakewalk this weekend. I still want 5 more wins this season.

If Peavy beats the Tiggers yet again, 1 week after throwing 7 innings of shutout ball against them at Comiskey,it would increase my enthusiasm for 2010.:gulp:

As I stated in another thread, I want the Tiggers to win the next three (now two) games to clinch it before the Sox go to Detroit. I want the Sox to win out to avoid a losing season, but I will take that over the Twinkees winning the division.

Leyland fought hard in those games last year at the end so it's fair for Ozzie to do the same. I'd want my team to win against a team fighting hard.

I'm glad Peavy's going on Friday. I'll be at the game and it's nice to see a great pitcher from the NL finally.

At the end of the season regardless of how many games you have won. You need to have a man's mentality.. screw everyone you can.

Tigers can win by themselves the next two games. Ozzie said he'll play his starters if the games mean anything for either the ligers or the cream puffs

No rush, you're going to see plenty of him the next 4 years....

Tigers may clinch tomorrow. If they do, I'd rather have Peavy pack it in for the year.

Agreed?

Yep. I distinctly remember saying last year, "Jeez, Leyland, this isn't the World Series. Lose the game already." :D: My, how the tables have turned. I respected him for trying his damnedest during last year's game 162.

Hell no, Ozzie needs to send in his stuff to let us have some more of what is to come.

They have half a year to relax and take a break, what is one start going to do that the previous two haven't done?

Looks like the Sox will be trying to play the role of spoiler still. Twins just won to keep the AL Central race alive.

And Greinke is pitching for the Cy Young in the game on Saturday.

I say he goes 8 innings shutout ball and the Twins get a walk off in the 9th to win 1-0.

I think the Sox are going be a handful for the Tigers. And the Tigers have been trying, very hard, to give up the division for a month now.

I can see a one-game playoff happening.

My prediction:

Tigers win the division although they get swept by the Sox. Royals sweep the Twins.

Tigers offense is pretty hot and cold, with Danks and Peavy, I think Sox should take a minimum of 2 out of 3.

As for Royals, Twins only need to worry about Greinke.

I could very well see the Twins sweeping the Royals and the Sox taking two out of three. Another game 163 would be awesome.

The Tigers spinchters will be tighter than a witches behind. I see the Sox winning 2 or 3, with the Twins winning 2 or 3. This could come down to Johnny Danks vs Verlander on Sunday...interesting baseball to the end.

2 of 3. That's all I want. 'A chip, a chair, and a chance.'

Remind me again, how did looking past the Royals at the end of last season work out for you guys?

But they had to play at the Cell in a one game playoff!! :whiner:

Rock and a hard place, rough with the smooth, but hey, I like the thought of us going up there and handing Detroit their ass............even if it helps the Twins out.

To quote a phrase Al Davis has been saying it all his Raider life, "Just win baby!"

Go Sox..............Good Times / Bad Times...............Go Sox!
