Didn't see this anywhere. He's had a helluva run and deserves a break after everything he's done.

What a quitter.

I'm sure it'll be a tough change for most Braves fans, and he'll be one hell of an act to follow. One of the best in the game.

I've also read that he's going to stay on as some sort of consultant so he'll still have a presence in the organization.

He's the longest tenured manager in baseball. It'll be sad to see him go.

That being said, this is obviously for personal reasons, probably stemming from his age. None of the Braves' problems are a result of his abilities to manage a team.

Dont be suprised if the Braves hire his replacement this offseason and have the new guy work with bobby.
