Nix came in to play for Beckham after he supposedly had a stiff back. Has anyone heard any updates? Will he be out tomorrow?

Could he be faking it so that he can spend a day or two on vacation far away with Josie?

According to Scot Gregor of the Daily Herald, it's not a stiff back but rather a stiff "right front side". Hopefully nothing serious.

A stiff "right front side" beats a back injury as far as I'm concerned.

Ozzie said earlier that Beckham would probably be out today as well.

I heard the same thing. An article on whitesox.com stated that one of Ozzie's policies is that if you're taken out early in a game then you get a day off the next day.

Unless it is a hernia.

Really hope he won't be out long. I'd be really pissed if some player of ours were put out of contention for an award because of an injury for two years in a row.

Looks like he will be out today and tomorrow with Nix starting at 3rd both days. Ozzie doesn't want something to happen where he then is out for 2-3 weeks because he didn't take an extra day now.

Beckham to miss 2 games. "Right oblique strain."

FWIW, he had an oblique problem earlier this year with Birmingham that put him on the DL.

That was more of an abdominal strain.
