Hey, remember last month when we won 3 of 4 from the Yankees?

That was awesome.

I agree. If he can keep pitching like this for the rest of the season, I think he deserves the first crack at the #5 spot in the rotation next year.

I guess in years when individuals have amazing personal accomplishments, the team as a whole craps the bed.

2007 saw Buehrle's no-hitter, Thome's 500th HR, and Jenks tie the record by retiring 41 consecutive. The final 2007 team record? 72-90

2009 has seen Buehrle's perfect-game and setting the record by retiring 45 straight, and Dye and Konerko each hit their 300th HRs in back-to-back fashion. The final 2009 team record? Doesn't look promising :(:

Agreed, but Kenny better get other viable options too or we could have a black hole there next season too.

Scott Linebrink is not eternal, it only seems that way. He will be gone after 2011.

Peavy
Buehrle
Floyd
Danks
Garcia/Hudson/Torres etc.

That's enough to make me happy for now at least.

Kenny is busting his ass this offseason trying to get rid of him I'm sure.

Waste of time. Scott has a NTC and there isn't a team in MLB that stupid.

How did Linebrink get a no-trade clause?

I wouldn't say it's impossible, he probably will barely get a bag of balls for him though.

How about this?

Everytime Mark Buehrle throws a no-hitter the White Sox suck. Every year after which Mark Buehrle throws a no-hitter the White Sox win the division.

I like those odds.

I can only imagine the phone conversation.
Kenny: "Would you be interested in Scott Linebrink?"
Other GM: "What is his contract status?"
Kenny: "Oh you know, it's only 10.5M over the next two years"
< click >
Kenny: "Hello? Hello? Oh ****"

Here's a happy thought: Keep Linebrink in the setup role during the first half of 2010. Then, at the All Star break, put him on the DL with "rectal cranial inversion." Repeat for 2011.

I catch most of the games on radio, by choice, and I don't have to endure Chris Singleton doing a terrible job of calling terrible games. :D: (I love you, Chris, but that was SO not your gig.)

I loved Stone with Farmio last year, but this year I'm pleasantly surprised by DJ with Farmio: they're getting actually funny together.

Garcia had way more than I thought he would, today.

I like Pods more in 2009 than I did in 2005, for some reason, and I really appreciate the difference he's made to this club this year.

Nick Swisher isn't bringing blowup dolls into the Sox clubhouse and getting Carol Slezak all agitated.

Ozzie and Kenny are even more disgusted than the fans are with the performance to date of the 2009 Sox. That bodes well for 2010.

That's all I got.

We'll have better guys throwing the ball in upcoming seasons with Buehrle, Peavy, Danks, Floyd, Garcia, and Cutler. One of those hard throwers has a season that starts sooner than the rest, of course.

We have young guys like Viciedo, Jordan Danks, Link, Mitchell, Hudson, and Flowers to look forward to. Hopefully we'll see enough progression from them to have at least one or two of them on the roster next year.
