View Full Version : Danks' Fingers

I see Danks has a big mitten on his hand in the dugout....What was the diagnosis of his problem??
The other night his fingers looked white...appeared to be a circulation problem. Raynauds phenomenon??? I have Raynaud's and my fingers kind of look like that when I have an "episode"....

We were talking about this tonight as we watched the game. Apparently this is common in many women, but rarer with men. It's a problem with poor circulation in the fingers when temperatures are lowered. My Mom says she usually isn't affected during the summer, but if she's in a well air conditioned room it can spring up.
Interestingly enough, my Dad was talking to one of his fellow doctors who is a specialist on these types on conditions. He was concerned about Danks' future and his longevity due to the condition. It's something that could be quite serious for a pitcher as he has stated before that he's felt numbness in his hand and couldn't grip the ball well. It appears the Sox are being pretty cautious with it, and hopefully it wont turn into anything more that an occasional annoyance.

Those who mock the importance of proper grammar and punctuation might like to know that the failure to place an apostrophe in the first word of the thread title turned the second word from the intended noun into an action verb that lacks a direct object to "receive" the action.
For the record, I hope Danks' circulation improves; we need him in top form!
EDIT: And someone fixed it!

I thought I read somewhere that part of the problem was Danks dipping which he has recently given up.

My mom has this as well. If she goes out in the cold all of her fingertips turn ghost white. It is kind of freaky but she has not had any serious problems with it. The doctors told her not to worry about it, at least not for now anyways.

He is a hand model and does not want anything to mess with his moneymakers.
