In the next 20 days, the White Sox will be playing several teams over .500 (4@BOS, 3@ NYY, 1@CUBS, 4vs.BOS), and a few under .500 (3vs.BAL, 3@Min, 2vsOAK). In thinking that they play to their opponents level, what do you think their record will be over those 20 days?

I'm thinking 4-4 against Boston, 1-2 against Yankees, 1-0 against Cubs, 2-1 against Baltimore, 1-2 against Minnesota, and 1-1 against Oakland, which would be .500.

Your thoughts?

Call me crazy, but I actually think they'll do good on this road trip of doom.

If the new Yankee stadium rumors are true I feel real good about our offense in that series. Our pitching has shown this year ballpark means nothing. If they are on they will shut you down, if not they get shelled.

Boston 5-3
NYY 1-2
Cubs 1-0
Orioles 2-1
Oakland 1-1
Twins 3-0

Total 13-7

I know this is rather optimisitic, but we've been winning series, and we've played tough competition well. It seems like Boston is falling off, and I'm hoping against hope that we send the Dump Dome out with a sweep.

Well, considering that the Sox have a winning record vs. teams with winning records and a losing record vs. teams with a losing record I think we will do ok.

I'll go with 9-11. They'll be .500 at best against NYY and Bos but will get swept one last time at the TwinkieDome and will be unable to complete a sweep of Baltimore or Oakland. Same old, same old.

Bal 2-1
Bos 4-4
NYY 1-2
Twins 0-3
Cubs 1-0
Oak 1-1

Baltimore 2-1
Boston 2-2
NYY 1-2
Min 2-1 (this is not a good team, dome or not, win this series)
Cubs 0-1
Boston 2-2
Oak 1-1

10-10----a .500 trip for a team that loves to be at or around .500 I would be a bit more optimistic but the thought of seeing Yankee hitters going after Jose and Freddy...ouch

the question is does Detroit blah as average over this same stetch so that we are still about 1.5/2.5 when these 20 games are said and done, or can they find a way to put a big run together?

I went with the slightly better than .500 option, which is what this team has been all year long. Don't see the tiger changing its stripes...

I voted 10-10 exactly. I am steadfast in my belief that the Sox are a .500 team. :D:

I voted 10-10 exactly.

same here 10 -10

That will put the Sox in good position to make a run at the division over the last 21 games

I wonder if the Sox players will play with a little more confidence/enthusiasm knowing that they will never have to play in that place again (unless there is another game 163 - don't even think like that!)
