GOOD!! Let him come in when we've got a four or more run lead (if that ever happens again) and if he walks two batters in a row, take him out.

Linebrink and Kevin Gregg can share a drink together sometime soon......

I recall Linebrink being lights out last year until Jenks got hurt. Linebrink was promoted to closer, and he just couldn't cut it. He hasn't been the same guy since.

I don't even want to see him in there with a 4 run lead. Maybe something more like 6+.

IIRC does Linebrink still have one more yr left? Isn't he in the $8 Million per range? Who can take him off our hands?

$4 million per range.

Linebrink's struggles shouldn't be that surprising, he's been a first-half pitcher for the past few years. Since 2006, he's pre-All Star game ERA has been great and his post-All Star game ERA has ranged from below average to downright awful. I don't know if he just runs out of steam later in the year or what, but he's been a part-time pitcher since before he came to Chicago.

OK so we call up the Nationals..tell them we have the perfect setup man to go with Macdougal.
