It would be really cool to have a section with trivia questions about the White Sox and the MLB. For instance, I was just thinking when was the last time the White Sox held the best record in baseball after 50 games? I have a ton of trivia questions so it was just a thought about doing something neat.

Sorry if this has been talked about before, I searched for it. And I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section

I thought the Sox had the best record in baseball for pretty much the entire 2005 season until the final couple weeks of the season. I know they finished with 1 less win than the Cardinals.

I wasn't sure, that's what I thought. Thanks for confirming it.

Wouldn't it be fun to start a thread or something where people can ask crazy trivia questions or stat questions that would give us a challenge to find out the answer(s). Just a thought.

It's been done here before. I remember some trivia threads were going around last year.

Yes. Fenway frequently starts them in the Parking Lot.

Actually the baseball trivia threads were posted here in Talking Baseball. The way it was done was that whoever answered correctly would ask the following question and so on.

So why don't you get us started with a question Doc?

Queston 1: Who was the last Orioles player to hit three home runs in a game?

Without doing an internet search, I'm gonna guess:

Brady Anderson?

Does it go all the way back to Boog Powell, perchance? Maybe a more recent Oriole, like Mike Devereaux or Joe Orsulak?

I'm guessing no.

Question: are we allowed to use the internet to find answers?

EDIT: I couldn't help myself, and used B-R's play index. The answer is Nick Markakis, 8/22/06, vs the Twins.

How long do I wait to give the answer? No one has the answer yet. I suppose if you have to use the internet that is OK to use.

Is my post above not correct? You'll need to highlight the part after "EDIT".

The rule in previous threads was 24 hours.

Nick Markakis is correct. Sorry for the delay. I went to the Brewers game last night and wore my Thome jersey. I got a lot of crap until I told them "it's better than the cubs." Of course there was a group of drunk guys who we're really pushing it almost causing a fight, but those drunks weren't worth my time. LOL.
