Glad I got to see Peavys last opening day start this year as a Padre. So happy to see him on the Sox.

Nice sound clip. All is forgiven from May. :D:

I hope Peavy gets in the rotation come late August.

Nice clip. He sounds like a good guy and I understand his switch in mentality. Hopefully he is back in late August and helping us win another Central Division Championship.

Very nice. I thought he expressed himself well. Welcom aboard Mr. Peavy to an organization, to paraphase Jake Peavy, that is all about winning!

Peavy sounds like a class act. No hard feelings regarding May.:D:

Jake's Chicago press conference at 2pm today.
Wonder if he will throw off the mound before his presser?
Be nice to get impressions from Coop and Ozzie.

I hope Tobey Hall gives the Sox his permission to unretire his number 44

It will be shown live on CSN. :bandance:

Edit: Damn, a Claude Harriott sighting in this CFL game.

Yeah, Peavy was talking about how much better we are now, considering we lost by double digits on the trade day.

Peavey seems like hes itching to play, and *as he keeps saying*, he wants to win. I would love to see this guy mow down 12 batters each game he starts...

Guess we will have to wait and see.

I wish him nothing but the best.

I liked his answers to the questions about the batters park

The next few years should be fun watching him pitch.

Liked the looks of the Peavy jersey Kenny and Peavy held up at the beginning. When will Grandstand have the jersey t-shirts available?

He seems genuinely excited, which is good to see.

Hopefully only a few weeks until we get to see #44 on the mound. :bandance:

I can't wait for Peavy to get healthy and help this team win.

Agreed. I also liked his joke about Ozzie letting him pinch hit. He was also complimentary to the other guys on the staff, talking about Burls, Danks, and Gavin and being excited to be part of that rotation.

I've heard two KW interviews now where he says that what Peavy said last time was "Not right now." Apparently he meant just that.

Argh, I missed this. I was watching the replay of Game 6 of the '85 World Series on MLB Network.

Is this available online anywhere?

If that is, in fact, the case, I wonder if he knew he'd be on the DL soon and didn't want us to be down a starting pitcher for his entire stint on the DL? :dunno:

He hurt his leg running the bases AFTER he turned down the trade.

To be honest, I was still a little miffed over the May mess when I first heard about the deal late last night. But now that he's here I say live in the now, and can't wait for him to get going. :)

In fact, IIRC, it was during a Cubs game.

Which is another pile of BS the Naitonal League rule of hitting the pitcher.

The National League requires pitchers to get hit? Oh my.:redneck

By the way, the other eight position players are also capable of getting hurt. Maybe we should have robots do the batting and running so nobody gets hurt out there......
Don't tell me the pitcher is very important. Ever see a team win without a First Baseman on the field?

I'm the leader of the Peavy man-love around here. :D: He's my favorite player in baseball. And now on my favorite team.

But you might be referring to JermaineDye05.

The custum t-shirt shop at The Cell already had the grey t-shirt Peavy jersey as of before today's game.

I can't wait to get a Peavy jersey to go along with my Burls and Konerko ones. Maybe we can take the additional revenues from the licensing $$$ and put it to good use and make the team even better.

One of the guys was on the radio, and they had already guessed he'd wear 44 before any announcement
