Thanks for the few good starts Clayton. You stepped up big in a few games for us. You seem like a pretty good guy. Did anyone notice Clayton not too enthusiastic, on the pregame where he said "So I hear I'm a Padre". Can't say I blame the guy though.

I like Clayton Richard, though I thought he would be no better than a 4th starter in the AL once all was said and done. I wish him the best as a Padre.:gulp:

Richard has a future as a back-of-the-rotation starter. Good luck to him in the NL.

Thanks for some solid starts when we needed you also...

thanks for the great job as the fill in 5th starter, you pitched some really great games for us this year, good luck with the Padres.

Thanks clayton for the grit and toughness expected of a former football player, your future is promising as a member of the pads rotation in a pitcher's ballpark for years to come. Good Luck.

All the best Clayton, you were a key piece in the acquisition of an ace. There is no shame in being traded in a package like this.

He was nothing but classy today in parting interview. Says he's excited about the new opportunity and thanks the Sox for giving him a try (I agree that he looked bummed no matter how excited he said he was, though).

Seemed like a really great guy, and came up big for us in the ALDS and his past few starts. Hopefully San Diego fans will learn to spell his last name properly.

I liked Clayton's potential, and was an advocate of keeping him in the starting rotation. He has a bright future. Whether it's in the pen or the rotation I think he'll be in the league for a long time.

Good luck to you, and thanks for coming out of nowhere the last couple of years and helping the Sox land Jake Peavy. :bandance:

Good luck to Poreda, as well. Never thought he would be in the Sox system for the long haul.

I like Clayton and thought he did a good job with the Sox in his short time here. Good luck to him in SD.

Richard is a tough competitor. He will be successful. Sorry to see him go, but at least he knows he was traded for a star.

I like the kid. He threw some big games for us, and he even did a nice job as a pinch runner. I'm sure Tampa Bay is happy to have him out of the league!

Best of luck, Clayton.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Clayton pitch well in Petco in the NL. He very well might be their best starter at this point in time.

Good luck Clay. Thanks for...well...getting us Peavy!

I was never a Clayton Richard fan, he totally flew under the radar up until last year and I was very surprised at the progress he made during his 3 years in the farm system. I really think this kid has a chance to be a good #4 pitcher, especially in the spacious confines of Petco. Best of luck!

Clayton, thank you for walking by my table three times during dinner in KC. It was really a thrill.

Oh yeah, thanks for your efforts on the field too. :D:

Awesome! Was he with family? I'd have snuck a photo on my phone.

Love the guy's bulldog attitude on the mound, wish he had a little more "stuff" to bring to the table, but definitely has a future in the big leagues. Not everyone is traded for a former Cy Young winner.

Good luck in San Diego.

Yeah, with what I assume was his girlfriend/wife and his parents. I was soooooooo tempted to whip out the phone but was too afraid to get caught.

As I walked out of the restaurant, Nix, Beckham and Linebrink walked by (where's the fainting smilie ). They were going in my direction so I started walking behind them. But then I got all freaked out that they'd see my Sox tattoo and think I was following them so I hung back a bit.

I saw Walker that night as well and I think I saw DJ C too but he was across the street so I'm not sure.

Clayton, you a very attractive young man.

That being said, I wish Richard nothing but the best. I really hope he excels with the Padres. He may be a pretty good 4th or 5th starter for them in the NL.

He pitched some excellent games, and stepped up when we needed to him. I'll never have any ill will against players like him.

I like Clay's potential. He has a 95+ fastball and when he gets his breaking stuff and change over, well, we all saw the result. I think he will make a lot of money in this game. I like the trade but SD did ok also with Clay,Aaron and the others.

Thanks for exceeding the predictions for potential as a lower rated prospect and becoming valued enough to fetch Jake.
Good luck.

Love the guy's bulldog attitude on the mound...

Yep, this is what I like most about Clayton. He seems mentally tough, and when you needed him to come up big, he usually did. Barring injury, I have no doubt he'll have a nice major league career.

Good luck, Clayton! :gulp:

Clay: To me you were pretty awesome & I really hate losing almost any White Sox player. :whiner:

I really think you are gonna turn out to be very fine pitcher.

Lookin' forward to catchin' you on MLB Network with the Padres.

I must add...do not get down Clayton...you are going to San Diego to live and work, you will be given a starters slot, you are young, single and rich.
San Diego has lots of pretty girls who want to be your friend...oh yea, it could be worse...have fun!!

Lota worse places to get sent to for sure. San Diego is nice along the coast, hot as Hades inland.

Just watched the interview with reporters he had before he left yesterday and he was pretty funny. I could not be happier for a nice guy like Richard to go to a place where he knows he will be out there every fifth day on the bump. Hopefully he can succeed there and be a solid pitcher for years to come. And how can you be mad about going to San Diego? Who doesn't want to live in San Diego?

I was sad to see Richard go in this deal, I thought he had/has the potential to be a decent 2/3 starter in a few years. I think it's a good deal for both sides in the end...and a deal you have to make when you look at the Sox rotation for the next 3 years.

Thanks for showing up in big situations, like last Sunday against the Tigers. Clayton doesn't have the best stuff around, but he's a competitor out there.

Best of luck in San Diego. :gulp:

Best climate in the USA, oceanside. I thought you were getting it figured out, look for you at the ASG in a few years, just hope you don't turn into Brock and Peavy to Broglio. (speaking of injured pitchers)
