If it happened it would mean the Twins would then have the 2008 White Sox left side of the infield which was damn good if I remember correctly.

Joe Crede!!!!

Joe Crede!!!!To say Crede was "damn good" in 2008 would be...well...wrong. Crede was mediocre with the bat and kind of a mess defensively - his throwng was erratic as a result of his back troubles, and he wound up committing 20 errors in 97 games, which was 6 more than his previous worst (14 - in 151 games - in 2003).

Cabrerra would be a nice pick-up for the Twins. Certainly an upgrade over Punto. I hope it doesn't happen; but I think it will.

OC has been pretty hot with the bat of late ,so I hope it does not happen, but I suspect it will. Cheap move to mollify the Twins fans who hate Punto's .200 bat.

Will the Twins bring him back when they play us?

Any deal that keeps Nick Punto out of the lineup when the Twins play the Sox is a good one.

Don't worry, he can still come in and get a bloop pinch hit single to score two runs when we play them.

If it means the end of Nick Punto, I'll be happy. But who knows, they make keep Punto just because he is lethal against us.

I went to high school with Tyler =]

The dude is ridiculously fast. If he ever broke the majors with the Twins we would have hated him.

Ole Billy gave up a 2nd round pick and gave an AL opponent an additional Sandwich pick to sign Cabrera, whom he eventually trades to another AL opponent for a 21 year old light-hitting SS/3B that hasn't been able to play his way out of the APPY league until 2 weeks ago?

Great move there, Billy!

I guess Cabrera just wasn't worth much. He also has a clause in his contract, stating the team he ends the season with, cannot offer him arbitration. So, the Twins will receive no compensation for him. It lowers his value as a half a season rental.

Cabrera may end up playing for half the teams in baseball before his career is over.

What's scary is there hasn't even been a small rumor about the Sox. Fields hasn't even been dealt. I doubt Kenny is sleeping right now, maybe there might be a big surprise. If so, it better be worth it.

It was obvious from the day the A's signed Cabrera that they were going to trade him, which is why A's agreed to the contract clause you referenced. They have a minor league shortstop who they say is close. They are probably happy with the prospect they picked up from the Twins.

You have to wonder why the Twins just didn't sign Cabrera during the offseason. Whatever the reasons, they would be better off.

You think you're old? I know of him because my son went to Maine West.
