Good call. What a terrific performance by Gavin tonight.

Thank you for giving it to the right guy. I was worried that Wise would've ripped that away from Floyd.

I feel SO bad for the guy...He's had more quality outings ruined by the pen than anyone else, I think.

How many wins has he been shafted out of now?

2008 John Danks gives him a run for his money.

Gavin pitched an awesome game, and was a pleasure to watch. This further proves that wins mean very little in determining a starting pitchers performance.

Well done Gavin.

Good game, my man. Definitely a light this seemingly dark season. You're going to be the next perfect game, aren't ya?

He'll throw a no hitter before his career is over.

Not at all, Pick to Click is not synonymous with "Player of the Game." I've never seen a guy get a walk-off hit and not win the PTC.

Should have been Dewayne.
Won the damn game for us.

I was at the game, so I'm just now getting online. If I had been online, I would have probably gone co-PTCs: Gavin and DeWayne "The Man" Wise.

With an honorable mention for Bacon I hope.

Yep, I was ripped off of another PTC win.

I no longer call him "Bacon" or "Gordo." I now refer to him as "RoY."

Yep, I was ripped off of another PTC win.

Slingshot, 50 paces.

You go 7.2 innings of one-run ball with 10 K's against that lineup (3-4-5 hitters were hitless), you win the PTC.

I think it was the right call. If Thornton doesn't give up the homer to Swisher, this isn't even a discussion.

I've seen PTC awards for the guy who scored the walk off winning run instead of got the hit that drove it in. I've awarded it to a player in that case (though they did other things to merit consideration). If it's a walk off homer, it's a no-brainer, but when it takes three guys to get the winning run in (or in this case 4 - H,PR,H,H) it's tough to single out one of them as being most important. Wise doesn't get his chance unless both Thome and Konerko get on base first and if Ozzie doesn't sub in Pods to run for Thome. Wise had a great moment, but Gavin was the right choice, IMO.

Wise doesn't get any respect around here.
