For a bunch of minor leaguers: Clement, Aaron Pribanic, Brett Lorin, and Nathan Adcock. Ronny Cedeno was also in the deal.

Snell wanted out of Pittsburgh badly. I'm surpirised they got as much form him as they did, considering the circumstances.

Wilson was pretty vocal about his dissatisfaction as well. Not that I blame him.

Is there anyone left on the Pirates anymore?

Snell was literally suicidal. Good for him.

I would assume this means the Mariners are buying, not selling.

I can't even imagine being a Pirates fan. Haven't they pretty much traded their whole starting lineup this year?

Sanchez, for now.

Looks like the Mariners want to stay in this thing. Not bad for the Pirates to get Clement out of this, although I've heard the Mariners weres souring on him.

I wouldnt be surprised if Sanchez is moved in the next couple days here too.

Their fans are probably too. If they have any left.

You're confusing quantity for quality.

Looks like the M's just made some room to promote a bunch of guys they actually think could be something.

I was referring to Clement.

It must be awesome waking up each morning knowing that you have the defending champions in both the NHL and NFL in your home city. They'll last.

They've tried this before. Giving up your better players for young prospects, until they become your better players, and you trade them and etc.

They're awful.

It's a shame that teams are actually allowed to operate like the Pirates do.

I'm convinced Rachel Phelps is running them.

I don't want Sanchez. His on base percentage isn't great and i'm pretty sure he has a rediculous contract.

I'm surprised Jack Wilson lasted with the Pirates for as long as he did. It was just a matter of time before he was gone too.

Supposedly Sanchez is going to the Giants rather soon as well.

Yeah, Sanchez isn't all that great. As for the contract, he's paid $6.1 mil this season, with a club option for 2010 at $8 mil. The option is guaranteed with 635 PAs, and could go up with all sorts of performance kickers.

I think it's time to dust off this old Onion article from a few years ago:

How does that make someone who is primarily a Pirates fan (if such a person still exists in Pittsburgh) feel better?

If the Sox were just like the Pirates and the Bears and Hawks were champions, I'd feel good for the other 2 teams. But, I'm a much, much bigger baseball/Sox fan than I am a football/Bears fans and even more so than the Hawks. Trust me, I'd still feel pretty miserable if this was the situation with the Sox/Bears/Hawks.

Anyone want to go recruit Pirates fans to our fanbase?

They were souring on him especially with the emergence of Rob Johnson. Jeff also has already had 2 knee surgeries. Not a good thing for a catcher.

As a Mariner fan, I"m excited about this trade. It helps us stay in it this year as well as helps us build for the future.

I'm thinking they can be had with very little persuasion these days.

McCutchen with 3 Hr's and 6 RBI's last night. Can't be too long until he's traded. Not sure if that should be teal or not.....
