That's an awesome cover. I didn't really like it at first, but then I noticed the scoreboard in the background.

It will be on my White Sox wall in my den.

My first thoughts exactly. It will go nice next to my framed picture of Buehrle from the 05 WS.

But how does it compare to Kerry Wood's SI cover??????? Which one is more impressive??? Inquiring dopes want to know!!!!!

OK, I'm though thrashing that dead horse. For now.

The way I see it, every time a person in the national media mentions Mark Buehrle's no-hitter, the Sox lose a little bit more. This isn't good news.

Thank goodness there are a lot of fans in the background. :D:

If this goes nationwide, that will mean the Sox got more press from SI for the perfect game than the world series win

No offense to the Tour de France fans out there - and considering my fat ass hasn't owned a bike since I was a kid - but couldn't Buehrle have had the cover to himself?

Otherwise, that's great stuff. Definitely frame-worthy.

Anyone know when it hits newsstands?

Teams win the World Series every year, with the notable exception of one.

When is this magazine hitting news stands?

If they could have only waited another day .... Mark might have had another gem tonight ... instead the double whammy of the SI jinx and the stupid dome do the Sox in

Here's a link to the fairly lengthy article that accompanied the cover story (should be at least 2 pages in the printed edition):

"Regular third baseman Josh Fields..."

Huh?

I think they are trying to say that 3rd is his normal position. Not that he's the everyday thirdbasmen for the Sox.

My local Barnes and Noble told me they get the new S.I. every Friday.

The owner of the newsstand in my office building said they will have it tomorrow (7/30).

Thanks for the link to the article, Mark. Reading it made me relive it, and I started crying again. Also, it was one of those articles that is worded in such a way that I want to read it very slowly, to get the most enjoyment out of it. I even stopped reading a few times to just smile and wipe away tears. Sniff.
