Talk about a bargain!! Buehrle's got similar numbers to Sabathia and is costing us only a fraction of that amount--I'll take Buerhle-mon any day! More evidence that you don't have to have a 97 mph fastball to be a top-notch pitcher--congrats, Mark!

I was watching this on GameDay at work. I was stunned and disappointed when I saw "Double" and a man on second pop up in the top of the ninth. I felt so deflated until about 20 seconds later there were two outs, no one on base, and NO hits.

I will never forget that I was happy, but very confused! I can't wait to see Dewayne's catch!

Unreal.

My mlb.tv feed was trailing the real-time but they had a runner icon on 2nd base in the ninth under the pop-up scoreboard, so I'd thought he lost it. Imagine my surprise when Alexei threw out bartlett.

That wise catch reminded me of the Griffey catch from back in the day. Under the circumstances that was one of the greatest catches I've ever seen. Even in a 10 run blow out that's a hell of a catch. Crazy thing is by rule definition its not officially a catch until he physically takes the ball out of his glove so if it dropped after he hit the wall it likely would have been ruled a no catch had he not held on after the bobble.

What a game.

And almost forgot: TIGERS LOSE!!!

Incredible effort by Buehrle....You could tell he had good stuff from the beginning. The grand slam gave him a cushion early on and he just rolled. The best at bat that summed up how much he was in command was when he fell behind 3-0 and beared down and still got the batter to ground out weakly.

This is the kind of performance that can propel the team into the big weekend series against the Tigers.

Big congratulations

This is the perfect chemistry game we needed for the rest of the season. The much maligned Wise has a memory for a lifetime.
