According to SI's John Heyman, the Mets turned down an offer for Roy Halladay that would send Fernando Martinez, Jonathon Niese, Bobby Parnell, Ruben Tejada to Toronto.

The Mets are in a tough spot with all of their injuries...they need alot including offense, but Halladay wouldn't hurt.

For the Mets to get Halladay would be like a $10 an hour worker buying a Lexis.

Teams in contention AND with deep minor league talent pools AND who need a pitcher should consider it.

Boy, the Mets and the Bluejays working together makes me laugh. Two teams without a direction.

Yeah, but that is a pretty ridiculous offer. If Toronto is looking for that level of return, Halladay isn't going anywhere.

These GM's crack me up. They load their rosters with horrible contracts, then want the world in return for their mistakes. Minaya, Ricciardi and Hendry all suck.

They were probably trying to capitalize on a franchise that might be desperate to do something to contend. I think the Mets are too far out of it to want him that bad and too smart to give up that much in talent. It's like if they went to every franchise and offered Halladay for a group of prospects that they wanted. If they get the deal, it will be heavily in their favor. If not, nothing wasted but some cell phone minutes and some breath.

Offer was bogus.

I'm shocked that Minaya didn't do it. He is such a horrible GM that nothing he does surprises me. Now that the offer was bogus, Met fans can go back to crying he's still the GM.
