ESPN posted the latest totals for All-Star Voting. Here are my latest beefs.

1B: Giambi is the deserving man and number one and he is there. John Olerud is off to a great start too. But Doug Mienkietwicsz and Steve Cox don't belong in the top 5. Where is Paulie? Such a disgrace

2B: I know 2B is more of a fielding position and Alfonso Soriano sucks with the glove, but the guys numbers are amazing. Slowly but surely Bret Boone is catching him despite his .250 average. The other three guys on that list don't belong anywhere near an All-Star game

3B: For the third position in a row the deserving man is number one. However, Troy Glaus and Eric Chavez should be 2 and 3 instead of a slumping Robin Ventura and a ****ty Corey Koskie.

SS: ARod is here and he earned is. 'Nuff said

C: This is the worst, Jason Varitek should be number one, we all know he won't be so screw it.

OF: Ichiro is hitting .376, there is no way he doesnt belong. Before he got huhrt Mannt was playing amazing and should be there. Mike Cameron? Other the the 4 HR game he hasn't done athing. He is batting .227!!!! This is stupid. Tori HUnter and Johnny Damon are far more deserving....

blah blah blah. 3 things.

1.) There is an semi-underground campaign to vote all Twins/Expos on the All-Star Ballots. I've seen it mentioned here (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10875&highlight=voting+all+twins+expos) , and at Rob Neyer's corner (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/neyer/index) of ESPN, and by a multitude of local writers. I'm doing my part, regardless of truth. This is working, there is no reason why Luis Rivas SHOULD be listed in top 5 second basemen. He's only played in one game this year.

:)

2.) It's always been a popularity contest. Yankees and Mariners will be winning thanks to an influx of internet japanese voters and fanatical fans. Kansas City won't.

3.) Koskie rules.

I like Koskie(played against him in B.C.).

Also Jason who? Is Varitek really playing that good?

Well IRod hasn't played a game. Jorge Posada has been coming along recently. True that Varitek started hop and is slumping but at least he has played at all.....

I really don't think the all-stars are what they say they are. They are nothing more than a popularity contest. Every now and then a deserving player makes it, but with the previous year's world series manager picking the remaining players, I can't remember the last impartial manager. I know they are only human, but it does get ridiculous sometimes. I still put in something like 75+ votes for Paulie because I like him and also just on principle.

It doesn't matter how many votes PK gets anyway, he'll end up on the roster & if he doesn't then Don Zimmer will need to give Joe Torre a hand pulling his head outta his A$$.
