It was kind of entertaining live at the Cell before the 2003 All Star Game. But other than that, the event is literally un-watchable for me.

I'm glad they made the All-Star game important from a home field standpoint because I can't stand watching any of the festivities. I just don't know who's juiced and the whole thought of it makes me sick.

Inge and Mauer are in it. Would it be awful of me to hope that it messes with their swings for the second half?

Its in what St Louis? So i'm guessing Berman will give us:

- " Oh my Prince Albert ______________"
- " Rocket Launched targeted for The Arch"
- "That ones headed to Kansas City"
- " Joe MAuer has the sweetest swing in baseball. "
- "The Oakland Raidaaaaars"
- " Its a BIG MAC Attack"
- and many other truly stupid comments.

The NL hitters are ridiculous compared to the AL. Pujols, Howard, Fielder and Gonzalez, compared to Pena, Cruz, Inge and Mauer. Four guys from the NL who can absolutely crush balls, and then you have Inge, Mauer, Cruz and Pena. Nothing against Inge and Mauer (obviously Mauer is a great player and Inge is a decent player himself), but they're not really home run derby kind of players.

Thanks. I thought it was the old capitol building. I'm not very good at MO / St. Louis history.

I'm extraordinarily impressed with the mowing - great job by the ground's crew.

The game is in its final inning (5th), and the AL is down 10-8. There are a combined 4 errors in the game.

I love Shawn Johnson even more now that she's representing us. Maybe I've got a better chance with her than with Nastia.

My friend who saw her in person yesterday at Busch Stadium said she looks like she's 13!

NL wins 10-8. What a cast of characters! Nelly for MVP.

Shawn Johnson is one of the most adorable people on the planet.

Agreed. Last week on Universal Sports (Channel 5.3), they were replaying the Women's Gymnastics Finals from Beijing and it was so fun to watch her perform, even though it was a year old.

I love that Softball game, I wish it were a tad more competitive, though sort of like the NBA celebrity/legends game.

Still a really fun thing to watch.

Shawn Johnson, Sox fan?

According to this article, she's actually a Cubs fan. (http://blogs.desmoinesregister.com/dmr/index.php/2009/07/14/meet-shawn-johnsons-new-pal-bobby-knight/)

They just couldn't put a Cubs hat on her in St. Louis. So a Sox hat was the next best thing...

Makes sense, she's from Iowa... They love their corn, white bread, and Cubbies.

Still cool.

Can't have people booing at an ASG. Only Sox fans do things like that...

She played on the AL Team. Had she been on the NL, she'd have had a Cubs hat.
Ernie Banks was 1st base coach for the NL. Guess what hat he had on?

Ernie Banks has an association with the Cubs, it would have looked weird for him to wear anything else. You really think there were no celebrity Cub fans that would have participated? It's a celebrity softball game, it's not like Shawn Johnson signed a contract with the A.L.

You don't know that, I heard Nelly got paid 5 million for that game, then after the game got a contract extension for 8 years worth 125 million.

Every AL player had a hat that corresponded to an AL team, and every NL player had an NL team hat on. Don't be ridiculous and bring up contracts and some ****, it just makes you sound stupid. I'm sure celeb Cubs fans would have participated if asked, so I don't see your point there either.
