Great win, but let's not make these games close enough to make Bobby come in.

Solid job by Bobby, make it quick and easy.

For Dotel and Jenks to restore order there, it takes some of that bad taste away.

Let's take the series!

Great offense. They outhit their shaky pitching and defense.

It's nice he got some run support.

About time the team put some runs on the board via the long ball at home. Say what you want about the benefits of small ball this team won't win that way. They need to hit a bunch of homers if they are going to make a run at the division or beyond and obviously hitting them at home is part of that equation because it's a home run hitter's dream.

Fields was much more back to his toilet seat crouch like he was early in the year.

Too bad that second inning was such a rat**** Gavin had some nasty stuff (as usual) he just got burned out pitching over the mistakes. At least he minimized damage and even though he only pitched 6 innings he did his job tonight given the nightmare defense he had to put up with early on.

I'll take 10 runs any day or night...

I assume that Guillen was just testing him to see if he could possibly get a right-hander out. No way should he ever pitch to a righty when it can hurt us - and with all of Guillen's lefty/right maneuvering, I doubt that will happen and I was suprised it happened tonight even with a 5 run lead.

If he can get lefties out he's probably better as a situational lefty than anyone in Charlotte.Big IF.

Of course, short of a forfeit sparked by widespread public mayhem, there is no such thing as an ugly White Sox win.

The thing is, when the defense has played really badly in the last week to put the Sox in a hole, the offense has come around to make everything better. Tonight would have been a great night to be at the ballpark if you're a White Sox fan.

I don't find Gobble giving up three runs nearly as upsetting as him failing to get through the entire inning. It would have been nice to give Dotel the night off. That's what those 10 runs were there for.

I was hoping they'd bring in Linebrink to clean up Gobble's mess. :redneck

Nice to see the Sox put some runs on the board for once, and against one of the best pitching teams this year. :gulp:

And Gobble is just plain terrible. At least he put Jenks in line for a save though. I gotta say though I'm worried about tomorrow with Richard going out there. I just don't trust him, and have a bad feeling. Hopefully we can win the series.

meanwwhile Gavin's dropped his era 3+ runs in 6 weeks ... tipping his pitch theory starts to seem more plausible.

Look who he's facing. It's a good move by Ozzie starting him tomorrow instead of Friday.

He's been nails lately. If we can continuously have at least 3 starters throwing the heat, we can win this division.

I bet that last weekend of the season will decide this division.

Like Rongey said, what other time are you gonna put Gobble in besides a blowout? I'm not pissed that he gave up that many runs. After all, he is our garbage-time pitcher. It's not like Thornton gave up that many runs. In that case you'd have a reason to be worried.

Has there ever been a game in recent memory where a team scored this many runs only with the HR?

It's warm out...we hit well.

I have no idea if there is any causation or correlation there - lets see a few weeks of this!

This can't be! Fields was in instead of Thome. Just hours ago blowhards mocked Ozzie for that move. How could the Sox have possibly won this game?!!111!

Anything can happen day-to-day in baseball.

That said, I'll still take the team with Jim Thome in their lineup over Josh Fields over 162 marathon.

I am long time Sox fan transported to Kansas City and am curious about Sox interest in K. C. pitchers who are bad----gobble was worst pitcher on worst team in baseball---how can he be on a MLB roster? Mcdougal lost the closers job to no one---he was just too bad to pitch, much less close. Dotel for the last few years has been just good enough to get you beat----piles up good numbers but too often "folds" in clutch----hope this year is the exception.

The kind of game sub-.500 teams win. Lousy pitching, shoddy defense. Everyone swinging for the fences for the sake of their personal stats. Once in a while it will work, but not that often.

Would you pay $50+ for a mid-week game? Sorry, the Dodgers are not a premium pricing team. People in Chicago, whether casual baseball fan or Sox fan, don't care about them.
