After watching that it makes me feel a kinship with the other posters on here (that are my age and older) that have been through the good and bad (much badness) over the past 30 years. I do remember watching those commercials and those bad teams, but in 2005 we finally made it to the promised land. I still can't believe we won the pennant let alone the World Championship! Great memories. Glad to see those channel 44 moments again. (...and I remember trying to fine tune those squiggly lines AO after dark too!)

How bad did the balding Gordie Howe look in the green Whalers jersey with his entire name spelled out on the back?

Also, was that Mary Shane doing commentary with Harry?

That was hillarious. Don't know why they did that. I'd love to spell out my whole name on a jersey.

I remember that theme music well, and when I was a kid, I thought it was so cool I recorded it because I just had to have it. Now it just looks and sounds so dang cheesy.

That techno-rock theme and the computerized graphics DID seem cool at the time. Especially because WGN was still starting Cub telecasts with a sleepy montage of year-old game highlights and some 1960's-era production music.

Channel 44 must have used that Sox opening for four or five years. I also remember an earlier opening that had an equally long run. It had Chuck Tanner in it, and they were still using it a couple years after he got fired.

The White Sox intro music is NOT, repeat NOT, Popcorn by the group Hot Butter which came out in 1972.

Not sure if it's the same one, but the intro that I recall from that era featured a drum solo track and one of the main video clips was a stylized outline of Wilbur Wood pitching out of the windup.
