Torn tendon in his ankle. Happened the game he started against the Cubs, the day after he veto'd the trade.

Ain't that a *****? Hopefully he gets better, it is a treat to watch him pitch. Of course he was pitching for us, it would be a lot better.

Tough break for the organization.
Latest reports have Peavy missing 8-12 weeks. I guess the Chicago media are going to have to give up their dream of seeing Peavy in Cubbie Blue....:D:

I'm not necessarily happy when ANY player gets hurt. But as far as this god, I don't feel bad for him either.

I don't think it's so much karma as irony. I was never angry with Peavy, though.
Of course, he could have injured himself in his first start for the White Sox, fielding his position or covering first on a ground ball to the right side.
It isn't like White Sox fans have never seen a pitcher injure a tendon covering first on a ground ball to the right side. I wonder if Fidel Castro was celebrating the last time something like that happened to a Sox pitcher.

Well, maybe he really is afraid to play against AL teams. How convenient for this to happen before this stretch of interleague play. Teal???

It's kind of lame to call this karma. Peavy didnt do anything particularly objectionable.
I say you deserve to tear a tendon if you tear someone else's tendon. Not "want to stay with your career long team"

If he would have accepted the trade he wouldn't have been running the bases which torn the tendon...it's karma, if you believe in that sort of thing.

I wonder if Jose Contreras shares your rosy outlook on tendon health for American League pitchers.

Wow. I guess Peavy definitely will get his wish to stay in San Diego. No mid-season trades for him to have to veto.

As the old saying goes, sometimes the best trades are the trades that didn't go through, like Jon Garland for Darrin Erstad. That would have been a disaster.

With our fanbase spouting nonsense like what's in this thread - I couldn't imagine why he wouldn't want to play for us...
Classy.

I was watching the game after the veto when he pitched against the Cubs. He was lights out and I was disappointed he wasn't coming to the SOX. I wondered why they took him out of the game so early (6th inning?) when the Cubs hitters couldn't touch him.

Classy.I highly doubt the fans weighed into his decision at all.
