I have a feeling Ozzie is going to try and start Thome a few games at 1st base but that could be dangerous.

Ozzie is smarter than that and I believe he addressed this in an interview already that he won't be playing Thome at first base during interleague.

Can't believe Beckham would hit fifth so soon. This could indeed be trouble, folks.

I'd seriously consider batting Anderson 3rd or 5th because of his good OBP.

Source? Or is this a creation of your own making?

Too bad we don't got Uribe anymore, he could be our #3 hitter!

Can Thome pitch?

It's an assumption.

So is it WTS material?

It's the same lineup, just removing Thome and sliding everyone up. No source, just common sense.

It's by default, of course. He should have been hitting ninth today. But the same could be said for everyone in the order past Pierzynski.

When Pierzynski needs a day off, Castro will be added to the bottom of the lineup. But Castro may benefit from having hit against Brewers pitching.

Am I the only one who wants to see Castro catch for Contreras every time as long as Jose continues to pitch well?

It's not any worse than most NL line-ups trotted out there.

Konerko's injury isn't as bad as feared. He will play this weekend's series per Rongey.

Most NL lineups? I would say that it is.

Short of Thome at 1B, there's not much else that makes sense.

Beckham batting second? Alexei has played decently batting second. If you or anyone else thinks Beckham should bat second, it's time to panic.

Konerko will get back in there before the weekend is over.

Hope so, but I'd hope he wouldn't be rushed and he has an even worse injury.

Hope so, but I'd hope he wouldn't be rushed and he has an even worse injury.

This is one case where I'm not worried about rushing a player. If they go cautious with Konerko and sit him out for two weeks, we'll be 12 games out when he comes back.

If we have any hope at all of staying in the hunt, we need his presence in the lineup. I know we won today with Josh Fields at first, but I wouldn't recommend that course of action for too much longer.

As soon as Paul can deal with the discomfort, I say put him in the lineup.
