Wait, did SD have a position player pitching there in the 18th?

Yes. Josh Wilson their backup SS was pitching. He almost got through the inning without any runs but ended up giving up a 3 run bomb instead.

They should have traded for Swisher.

Arizona's bullpen coughed up a 5-run lead in the 9th inning, then pitched 9 hitless, scoreless innings.

Jason Stark has some interesting info about Josh Wilson pitching in his column today. It's pretty funny. He actually pitched an inning for Arizona earlier this year, then pitched an inning against them last night. He also pitched for TB a few years ago.

Was he known for having a cannon for an arm or something as an infielder? Why does this guy keep pitching?
