People seem to forget that MacDougal was one of our best relievers in 2006.

Boone Logan and Ryan Bukvich were never good.

I suppose we can put Billy on the team, but like I said, he doesn't have any ninth-inning leads to blow with this bunch.

Bukvich was here for like three months, and Boone was lights out in the first half of 2008.

Logan had one good half with the Sox, just like MacDougal.

Bukvich didn't do near as much damage as MacDougal. Didn't eat up as much of the payroll either.

Can somebody tell me what the FO part of FOBA means? I've been here about a year and still have no clue.

Otherwise, good job implicating BA in this bunch of terrible, terrible players. However, you have to give props to Borchard for hitting the farthest hit HR in USCF history.

Borchard's home run is still implanted in my memory. He KILLED that thing.

At a poorly-attended weekday day game against the Phillies. I was sitting down the right field line and it shot past us on its way to hitting the back wall of the concourse.

He still belongs in this line-up, though.

Yeah, that .308 BA and .399 OBP he put up for the Sox was god awful. How could the Sox have even considered signing a career .300 hitter with a .397 lifetime OBP?

Todd Ritchie definitely anchors this staff. He posted a 6+ ERA and would have lost 20 games if he started 32-35 games. I would also give Jim Parque a spot in the rotation.

I'd have to disagree with a few.

Canseco did okay here.

Biddle never started 50 games for the White Sox, so you'd have to move him to the pen.

But I'd put John Snyder and Kip Wells in the rotation, Robert Machado at catcher, Brian Simmons in CF, Bryan Ward in the bullpen.

No room for a Chris Sabo on this team? And for those who go back a few years--nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can possibly be named to the shortstop position other than the immortal Bee-Bee Richard! Caruso and Clayton look like Honus Wagner and Cal Ripken next to Bee Bee Richard.....

I'd add Chris Sabo to the list. Not sure if he has enough ABs to qualify though. You also HAVE to put Tony Castillo in the bullpen. Good God was he awful. I used to weep tears of sadness every time Manuel went to the mound and called for the lefty.

And he was here for three years! I know everyone complains about MacDougal, but he actually had a solid half of baseball, and missed most of the last two seasons. Castillo was a fixture in the Sox bullpen for 3 seasons, and I don't think he ever had an ERA under 5.

Royce ducked the hard grounders to keep his errors low, he totally sucked at SS, he got hit in the chest one day and didn't get an E so scorers helped his BS streak as well

Actually, you could make up a worse team than any of these just from 70's players - Hank Allen, Ron Santo, Bobby Bonds, Kevin Bell, Bill Nahorodny, Buddy Bradford, and Harry Chappas all deserve recognition alongside Claudell Washington & BeeBee Richard based solely on what they did (or didn't do) with the Sox. The pitching staff has too many possibilities to mention, and it could be managed by Don Kessinger or Larry Doby.

Seriously, guys, how long have you been following this franchise? At one point we had Jerry Reuss in 1988 as our #1 starter. At the same time, Dan Pasqua and Carlos Martinez were taking turns batting clean-up. In the late 90s, you had guys like Wil Cordero and Lyle Mouton in the heart of the order. You can look back as recently as two years ago when the Sox, due mostly to injuries, were giving regular playing time to Luis Terrero, Andy Gonzalez and Jerry Owens.

I know the team is coming off a four game losing streak, but the drama queen stuff has to stop. This team is NOWHERE near "all-time bad" in Sox history. Not even close.

Anyone putting down this year's team minus a few players as their pick didn't see the 1970 team with its stellar record of 56-106..........I love Bill Melton, but remember when he lost the pop-up in the lights and it landed on his nose and fractured it?
