There's a lot of time between now and the selection of pitchers for the All-Star game, but it certainly could be fun to talk about it. Right now - I think it's between three guys - and one of them is on the White Sox.
In my mind the following are guys that are setting themselves up to be right there for the first week in July:
Greinke 8-1 - 1.10 ERA 88/12 in 82 IP
Halladay 8-1 - 2.63 ERA 68/11 in 82 IP
Buehrle 6-1 - 2.71 ERA 42/12 in 66 IP
Weaver and Bedard have a shot at being there as well - depending on whether any of these guys are still sitting with 1 loss at the end of June, but I think this is a real shot for Buehrle. The trend is that his numbers are improving over the last month as opposed to Greinke - who's starting to show as human - and Halladay who often this year gives up runs early and then calms down (not a good quality for a pitcher starting the All Star Game).
Thoughts?
