View Full Version : How umpires look at replay for Home Runs

Umpire Joe West gave some interesting insight on how umpires now deal with balls that could be a home run but not 100% certain as was the case in Boston last night.

West explained the best way to deal with it is to call the ball "in play" because we can always look at it later. If we called it a homer and then reverse it you have a problem with where the runners should be.

I have no problem with this.

It's Dankerific

thats fine as long as there isn't a higher standard of reversal, like in the NFL.
