I need one.

6/28/2005 @ DET: Hermanson comes in to secure a 2-1 victory in the 9th; Ivan Rodriguez leads off with a triple and in his typical arrogant manner pounds around on the ground/his chest with the crowd going wild. Hermanson then retires the next three batters. Beurhle goes to 10-1, Sox go 27 games above .500.

Yes, our Sox!

Robin takes the Goose deep with the bases drunk to walk the future HOF off the field. Big Hurt greets Ventura by throwing him over his shoulder and carrying him back to the dug out.

6/18/05: '59 rematch against the Dodgers. The Sox are down 3-1 in the 9th. Iguchi singles, scores on Everett's single. Pinch runner Willie Harris steals 2nd, who scores on Rowand's single. A.J. Pierzynski steps up to the plate, and after fouling off four straight pitches launches one into bleachers, flipping his bat in celebration. The Sox win 5-3 and improve their record to 45-22 on the year.

One of my favorite games from that year. It spawned a great pic of AJ and was an awesome comeback. Man, that record looks amazing.

And the two wild pitches that tied the game before that, too! I scared the crap out of my roommates with my yelling. I think Hawk screamed himself hoarse.

I really wish they allowed each teams' broadcasters do their games throughout the playoffs. I'd have loved to hear Hawk.

Timo perez!

My favorite Timo moment came in May, but the next year. Big Frank returns, smacks two homers, new White Sox and Chicago area native Mackowiak ties it on a pinch hit HR in the 8th; Timo wins it on a squeeze in the 9th [10th?].

Far and away my favorite regular season moment in Sox history. At least, since I've been a fan [1993, I guess?].`

I gotta add the AJ interference call from last August. I couldn't stop laughing and we ended up winning that one. The Rays were livid. AJ is loved far and wide, I'm sure. :) I know it's not one of the most memorable Sox moments, I was just amused by the whole thing.

Sept 22,1959. Watch the Sox on WGN clinch their first pennant in 40 years. I was 13 at the time and thought that this would be the start of many trips to the World Series. It only took 46 years for the next one but after all was said and done it was worth the wait.

May 21 2009...Sox keep top prospects intact, saving millions by getting nixed by what is a very good NL pitcher, but potentially very average one in the AL.

But they lost one game to the Twins.

I'm actually not so thrilled about keeping "top prospects." Seriously, Sox prospects haven't exactly lit the league on fire, either for them or any other team.

Yes that's a good argument too. But playing the percentages, one would think one or two have to pan out sooner or later. I mean how many times can you flip a coin and it lands on the wrong side? (or in the Sox case, lands on its side LOL)

I totally remember that game. I was actually stuck at a Cubs game and had the Sox game on my phone. It refreshed and showed a man on third no outs. I was very relieved when my dad called to tell me Hermanson pitched out of it. I think Dustin is one of the most overlooked pices in 2005. He was lights out until he got hurt.

And Alexei's grand slam in game 162, the game that forced the Twinkies to come into the Cell and get their bush-league attitude shoved down their throats, I so enjoyed that -- I was at the Tiggers game and waited out the rain delay because I knew that Freddie would not be able to hold the Sox. And he wasn't.

June 25, 2006. White Sox at home against the Astros, Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN.

White Sox are down 9-1 going into the 7th inning. A Konerko solo shot in the 7th makes it 9-2.

Iguchi goes long with a 3-run shot in the 8th to make it 9-5.

Bottom of the 9th inning comes around, still down 9-5. Two outs with the bases juices, and Iguchi launches a game-tying grand slam. 2-5 on the day, all 7 RBIs coming in the final two at-bats.

Unfortunately we lost the game in the 13th on a bad fielding play by Gload, and as soon as the game let out, a huge thunderstorm rolled through leaving us soaked getting back to the car.

If only we had won that game....

Sox and Tribe go into the tenth tied 1-1. Thornton gives of a homer. Bottom 10, 2-0 count, 2 out, TCM Launches one off Joe Borowski, DeWayne Wise singles, steals second, OC singles him home for the White Sox Winner.

Also surprised nobody's mentioned game 163.

Down 4-2 in the World Series long time fan favorite Paul Konerko hits a grand slam on the first pitch of the at bat to put the Sox up 6-4. Bobby Jenks blows the save in the top on the ninth, and I am glad he did.

Scott Podsednik with 0 homers all regular season hits a game winning home run to seal game 2 7-6. That was my birthday and the last World Series game played at the Cell.

Monday, 6/19/2000...

The Sox were coming off a 7 game road sweep of the Tribe and Yankees. They had finished it off by winning 17-4 the day before in NY and putting up 9 runs in the first, 12 in the first 2 and were winning 16-0 by the time the 5th ended. Overall they had won 16 of their last 18 to seize control of the division and push their record to 45-24.

It was a half price Monday and the place was packed. As the Sox took the field, the crowd started to stand and clap in dribs and drabs until it burst into a full blown standing ovation - the first of what would become a tradition, but this was genuine and spontaneous. No get-up-guy. No announcer calling for it. Just a full stadium of fans standing to exhalt their first place team and say thanks for giving us something to cheer about. I bought tickets that day with a friend who uses a powered scooter. We were sitting in the HC seats behind third base. It was one of the greatest moments I've ever had at a ballpark...
