All MLB teams will be wearing red caps (http://www.neweracap.com/nshop/product.php?page=viewall&hatGroup=&hatFit=98&groupName=MenMLB&view=listing&searchBy=fit&prevHatGroup=&prevHatFit=&resetDropDown=hatGroup) on Memorial Day, Independance Day weekend and 9/11 this year.

I think the Blue Jays cap (http://www.neweracap.com/nshop/product.php?view=detail&productid=NE-REDSTARTORJAY&startColor=red&page=viewall&hatGroup=&hatFit=98&groupName=MenMLB&searchBy=fit&prevHatGroup=&prevHatFit=&resetDropDown=hatGroup) is the worst of the bunch. I understand the desire to tie in the Canadian flag, but the logo looks like it came out of a three year-old's coloring book.

I liked the blue ones that they wore last year. Good idea with the red ones though, the Sox one looks pretty sweet, still a lot of money for a baseball cap though even though it is for a good cause.

I wish they would have stuck with the navy blue ones from last year. Now I gotta go spend $35 on another damn hat.

I really hate these damned hats. They almost always look stupid, and really it's just so MLB can put a few more bucks into their pockets.

Why wouldn't the Indians use this hat?

http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2626706&cp=1452349.1452728.705486

and do the stars and stripes in the background.....

The Navy hats were WAY better....I was actually surprised they didn't wear those for the All star game...I thought it would have been pretty cool

I'm all for honoring the veterans and supporting our country, but these hats are fugly! Why not just have the regular game cap with an American flag on the side/back to commemorate the occassion? Add a date to make it year-specific, etc.

The blue ones last year were OK, however these red ones are really going to stick out in a bad way. Imagine the A's, uniforms. Yuck!

The hats look like crap. Also those are the most uncomfortable hats made. 59/50 sucks. Also 37 bucks? Please!

The navy blues looked about right with just about every team. Bright red? who's idea was that?

I actually think the Sox one looks pretty cool but I would never pay that much for it.

And it's not even a good bright red --it's more orangey than scarlet. Pass.

I would guess yes...they did last year. That being said there is a "stars and stripes collection" in the MLB shop and some teams have jerseys with the stars and stripes logos.

Why don't they go the whole hog and have the stars on the brim and stripes on the hat bit? These ones looks a little ridiculous.

I think I bought a red one at least two years ago at Grandstand. Back then, I think it was just a designer cap for people to wear on patriotic holidays.

Memorial Day is not supposed to be a celebration. It's not about "the red, white, and blue." That's the Fourth of July.

It's supposed to be for a solemn remembrance of those who gave their life in defense of our freedom. I don't think a flashy baseball cap does that.

Apparantly, the caps are supposed to honor those serving in our armed forces, but a whole whopping $1 from every cap sold (on mlb.com only, I believe) will go to Welcome Home Veterans. Wow, a whole $1 out of $37.

For those who don't know, I'm a veteran, so I'm not being "anti." I just wish Memorial Day would go back to what it's supposed to be for. I don't think one person out of 10 could tell you what it's for.

"Major League Baseball Properties, Inc will donate all of the proceeds it receives from the sale of the caps to Welcome Back Veterans. In addition, MLB.com will donate an additional $1 to Welcome Back Veterans for each cap purchased through www.mlb.com (http://www.mlb.com)."

Was the original day called "Decoration Day"?

No worse then them playing the "Charge!" song at games.

I went on a tour of Wrigley today with a friend who's visiting from out of town and when we went in the Cubs' clubhouse, it was all set up for Monday, complete with the red caps. The tour guide goes, "I'm not sure what's up with the red caps..." so I had to fill him in.

Yeah, that's really historically incorrect for them to do. God forbid they play the freaking cavalry charge, conjuring up images of Custer...

MLB needs to find another way of being patriotic. These caps are terrible. I understand they're created to make money for charities, but seriously, they're hideous. Why can't the players all wear ribbons?

This is really much more about making more money rather than honoring anyone.

Perhaps I am a cynic, but I believe that they are more intended to make money for MLB with a pittance going to charity. If they were so interested in charity they'd give more than 1/37th of the proceeds for each hat sold to charity.

They are donating all the money they make off these hats regardless of where it is purchased. If you purchase it from mlb.com they kick in an additional dollar.
