I feel guilty for all the bashing on the players all the time (even though deserved for many so far). I thought why not.

I'm really glad Dye and Konerko finally have it going early in a season with seemingly no slump. Dye is hitting .320 with runners on base with a 1.035 OPS. Konerko is hitting .400 with Runners in scoring position so far.

I think Anderson really showed something to start, as did Getz. Buehrle is awesome so far, and this bullpen impressed the heck out of me. I think Thornton could be a closer for us or anyone else.

Feel free to add to the bright side. I'm still slightly optimistic about a large part of this team. Part of being a fan.

I'm happy about Paulie having a good start.
Just on the radio, Contreras threw 7 2/3 of no hit ball vs the Toledo Mudhens
I'm so glad Buehrle has been solid
The bullpen has been good as well.
DJ Carrasco has been a life-saver
Broadway has been good.
Clayton Richard had a good start today
I miss Brian Anderson because he was playing well before he got hurt
Umm
I still love AJ being AJ
We only have 9 games left in domes this year

All that is something

The threat of a snowed out game is pretty much gone now that it's mid May. That's good for something, right? Well, unless the Sox are up against a rookie pitcher . . .

Colon's looked like a 5th starter, which is where he was projected.
Quentin was hitting the ball well until he was injured.
Pauly is off to a good start.
Getz has looked pretty good at times.
Anderson played well until hurt.
I like Soxgirl's observation. Only 9 dome games left.
It's still only May.
Warm weather will eventually get here.

Pretty much agree with all previous posters and it's going to be 70 tomorrow. First game this year I'll be at with a starting time temperature out of the 30s. I predict a win!

I think with a legitimate CF, we're a better team. And I'll classify BA and Wise both as legitimate. Not Pods or Lillibridge. That's positive.

Coming home to the launching pad. Thome seems to be finding his groove. Contreras pitched a one-hitter in AAA the other day. No where to go but up. This team has too much talent to play this poorly...

If this was rock bottom, then I take it here in May rather than September.

I think we have to take 5 of 6 from this homestand.

Every team goes into a slump sometime during the season. Glad it's happening now.

It sure is scary though. Just can't hit, pitch, catch stealing baserunners, bunt, field, or catch a break. If it doesn't turn around quickly, well.................

I have nothing but hope that this team will turn it around this year. While things might seem bleak at the moment, there is always a chance that things can turn around, and chance is a funny thing; it never picks favorites.

Corky started off hot, but his bat has come back pretty much exactly to his career averages:

2009:
207.281.276 557
Career:
179.265.288 553

I just looked this up.
May 19th 1983 was an off day, after having lost to Baltimore 1-0 the day before. It was the third loss in a row and the 8th loss out of 9 games played.
The White Sox record stood at 13-20, 7 games under :500.
That team would go on to win 99 games, and win the Western division going away.
...I'm just sayin'...

But since they've been gone the Sox have really struggled. Coincidence? I think not. . .er, I mean, I think so.

The AL Central is pretty weak.

Two weeks of good baseball and we are back in the hunt.

It can't get any worse, right?

I don't think you can say that MacDougal's absence contributes to our recent losing streak. If anything he contributed to the start of the streak by weakening our bull pen and killing morale..

Sox are home on a beautiful, picture perfect day. Baseball will be played outdoors on real grass.

Mark Buehrle's on the bump. We may be home from the game before it gets dark. :gulp:

Yes, it is an absolutely gorgeous day here in Chicago. I'm hoping that our Sox will enjoy the great weather along with home cookin' and that the Sox bats will wake up!

Love all the postive energy on this thread - keep it going and Go Sox!

Yes but he wears stirrups!

I was thinking of reasons to be positive the other day, I think we'll probably start hitting at some point. But IF Floyd can turn it around, if Danks can pitch good consistently and Richard can do put up an ERA in the 4's we'll be ok. Honesty I think Richard can do that, I am fairly certain that Danks can do his role, and Floyd certainly has the talent. We'll see.

Peavy or not, Sox win 3 of 4! Putting up 20 on the Sox is the equivalent of hitting a 700 ft. solo shot. It still counts as 1. Could this be the start of Floyd's big run?

A good win last night. If Carlos can stay on the field, and Getz bounces back, then we'll be alright.

As for the pitchers, Floyd and Danks need to step up. Hopefully Richard can give us something.

This division is winnable. No team has really stood out as being the absolute best. Richard's had 2 straight solid starts, Floyd had 8 innings of 2 hit ball, Contreras is mowing em down in AAA. The warm weather and many home games in June could be just what the offense needs.

Series wins are adding up. Sox are back in second place. This bullpen is amazing, and this is a completely different PK then I've seen in the past two seasons. He's making great plays on defense and swinging the bat.

JD is putting up great power so far, and Thome seems to finding a rhythm. Kinda surprised with what Pods has done for the offense as well. I really like Getz being in the lineup too. Both are getting key hits. Hopefully the team keeps fighting til TCQ can make it back, and then can hit the next level offensively down the stretch.
