Corky Miller's been great for us. But Hawk needs to lose the nickname Corkaroo.

Good start by Clayton as well.

Richard was shaky, but not disastrous. Thank God we decided homeruns were a good thing again! Big Jim is the MAN! :bliss:

A very satisfying win. Clayton was just meh, but the bullpen and the O did their jobs.

Kap doing the post-game show with Melton is like Nancy Pelosi being the key-note speaker at the Republican National Convention.

Interesting to hear Hafner has lost so much weight. I've always believed he's been on roids, much to the dismay of my friends, they love him because hes from ND.

I think that Richard would have gone 5 had he gotten some calls by the ump tonight. He was getting squeezed. I am glad to see the guys get a win, now let's string 4 or 5 more in a row and get some momentum going.

Kaplan on the Sox postgame show should be illegal

That's just not right. The host does not need to be Sox fan, but Kaplan is not only a Cubbie fan but he's an anti-Sox antagonist. The crap he's spewed about Sox fans, if it were a Sox fan radio host saying that kind of stuff towards the Cubbies would have got that Sox fan fired.

What's going on?

Kaplan is the biggest Cubs apologist on Comcast. If he actually tries to say something positive about the Sox, he does so through clenched teeth.

I thought the bullpen was real good tonight.

Clayton Richard didn't give us any answers as far as the back of the rotation goes, but the relievers all stepped up and threw the ball well.

I agree. DJ, Matt, Dotel, and Bobby? Phew.. that's a lot of people for one win, but they were good!

About one month ago Kaplan launched into an ugly smear of Sox fans that I posted about here (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2198268&postcount=15). This jerk does not belong anywhere near a Sox broadcast.

Huge game by Carrasco and even though Richard didn't have his best start he kept us in the game and Ozzie took him out at the perfect time. I think for the time-being (seeing no one is in the system or on the market available) you have to keep Richard as the fifth starter and jsut make sure you have Carrasco to back-up so he can go 2-3 innings every fifth day in-case Richard doesn't have his stuff. Al

All I am really asking for Richard is to keep us in the game for four innings. Anything else is really gravy. And obviously the kid is young and could really progress out there.

I do know one thing, a young Richard out there with some potential and Carrasco to back him up is a way better option then seeing Jose throw balls.

Domeshot17

Good Win offense and bullpen. Richard was bad. Ozzie knew it. Give Broadway the next start. Richard belongs in the bullpen. The kid gets hit way too hard by right handers to be a starter. Broadways got the better numbers, give him his shot.

Wes Whisler pitched tonight and went 7 innings, no runs. His ERA is 1.76.

I'd give him the next start and see how it goes.

Excuse me, I hope it's not being too obnoxious, but I'd really like to gloat just a little. My guys, D. J. Carrasco, and Jayson Nix are looking good.
Maybe a few naysayers here will rethink their perspective on these two players. Frankly, it's more important what Sox management thinks of them, and I suspect that they like them both.

I thought for a moment that Kaplan was going to suggest that Cleveland could trade DeRosa to the Sox at the deadline as a replacement for Fields at 3B or backup outfielder. I was wondering what the spin was on that.

No, Kaplan just wanted to spend a couple of minutes of the abbreviated Sox post-game show talking about an ex-Cub.

That's Kaplan's regular routine on WGN radio SportsCentral - if he happens to interview a Sox player, GM or some other Sox person he'll give it a minute or two and then turn it into a Cubbie conversation.

Contreras started the season as our fourth starter. Guess it has regressed to our fifth starter role. Anyways, that is our first win from that spot (Contreras 6 starts and now Richard first start).

Honestly, Richard wasn't very good. More runs that innings is never good. haha! But, we did win the game. I imagine that he gets at least a few starts. Still also stretching out his pitch count. Hope that he continues to get good run support.

I have his next start against Toronto.

That's my point. Lee will come out feeling good so the Sox will score 11 in the first inning. Awful = Cy young. Cy young = Awful.:redneck

Hopefully Lee doesn't go back to Cy Young form tommorow.

Uh...he had two bad starts to begin the year and has been pretty damn good since then. Three of his five losses have been in games decided by two runs or less. The last time he pitched less than 7 innings was April 16th. In other words, the Indians aren't scoring for him.
