They just put a 6 spot up on Nats. Scary, but they might actually play better w/o Manny. Too distracting.

They aren't better without him, but they are still a very strong team and NL West sucks, not to mention the Nats.

Hard to say how they'll play without him. Hate to lose a bat like that in the lineup.

I will have to wait until they play a major league team to judge.

Pierre is going to get more playing time. However, he will have to bat ninth behind the pitcher. Torre seems to be stealing plays from larussa.

The Dodgers are absolutely not better without their best hitter. That's a total overreaction, and any "expert" who says that is just being sensational.

However, they are still a very good team without Ramirez, and they should still win most of their remaining games, not to mention the NL West, so beating up a truly awful team like the Nationals doesn't really mean anything in the long run.

Better without Manny? Absurd.

I don't think that they had time to call anybody up. Is Jerry Owens still available? Glad that we got Pods before they did.

Huh?

They called up OF prospect Xavier Paul.

I think my company softball team could score 6 runs on the Nats.

I had Nats SP Jordan Zimmermann on my fantasy team until just after the first inning tonight [of course, the move is effective tomorrow]. Why I ever picked him up I don't know.

They would have to talk to the Mariners about that.

I think everything said in this thread has been contradicted.

I still think my office softball team could score 6 runs off the Nats. I didn't say anything about holding them to 5 or under.

Did anyone refute that the Dodgers would be clamoring for Pods? Because that wouldn't be the case.

Na, the nationals are just that bad. They are a REALLY bad team.

It was hilarious to see that ball just drop between two Nats OF's in the first inning, who just stood there looking at each other. Took me a while to stop laughing.

And yet, the Nats are the first team to beat LAD in their park this year.

Obviously the loss of Manny is big, but Ethier and Kemp are studs which will keep their outfield solitified.
