The 10-11, five games back Cubs are ranked #5.

Oh well, I guess they are the Team of Destiny - Part Deux

I found the last sentence of the Marlins analysis amusing.

I took one look at this list and completley dismissed it. Come on, Cubs 10-11 and #5 in the rankings? I don't care if it was the Cubs, Sox, Royals or Nationals. Any team ranked dead last in their divison and below 500 should not be that high.

Maybe he meant to write the rankings in teal...

Is this like swine flu?

The symptoms are far far worse.

You got me. I am obsessed with the Cubs becuase I post a link to a stupid, heavily biased article.

Per this guy, the first place Cards have less "power" than the Cubs and the Red Sox are ranked #1????

Now am I obsessed with the Red Sox too?

I love it. The only thing better is all the whiners bitching about Podsednik returning for basicaly nothing. I just don't get it. He costs nothing. If he sucks, you move on to the next option. if he gives us a spark a la 2005, then great. Whine, complain, whine.

You are all a bunch of trolls. The Cubs suck. Those who say the Cubs suck suck as well.

So their power rankings are based on who they thought was supposed to be good rather than who actually has been good so far?

So their power rankings are based on who they thought was supposed to be good rather than who actually has been good so far? :scratch:Yeah I didn't get that either. The 9-14 Rays are #9, the 9-12 Angels are #10 and the 9-12 Mets are #12. Meanwhile, the 11-10 Reds, Pirates, and Tigers are #23, #24, and #25. ***? Tim Brown obviously doesn't understand the meaning of Power Rankings.

Power Rankings are a joke. <rhetorical statement> The only rankings that mean anything are the divisional ones. </rhetorical statement>

For those who feel slighted by the Sox being lower then the Cubs. Here (http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/powerrankings)
Pretty funny read.

Did you click on the trends link about the Sox? Wow, for a guy that works for a national outfit, he's got us pegged pretty well. I may actually take his work seriously.

What's up with the Tigers being ranked at #25? They have a winning record and are ranked lower than the Tribe somehow. I agree that Power Rankings are dumb but if you are going to have a list, shouldn't it make SOME sort of sense?:?:

Tim Brown is awful. Absolutely no insight in that whole article. The CBS one, however, showed some research and actual humor.

Yeah I only found it because of Dan Bernstein, but I think he is pretty good.

As a member of the media, I should probably start my own power rankings. Hell, everyone else is doing it! White Sox No. 1 every week, no matter what!
