1) I knew ________________ would happen, and it did.

2) I "knew" _______________ would happen and it did not.

3) I had no idea ______________ could happen and it did.

1) the division would be close
2) Alexei would continue to blossom
3) BA would become a .300 hitter with no power

Outside of Soxville, I expected the Yanks with CC (4.73), AJ (5.47) and Tex (.206) would run away with the east. I'm shocked, more than anything, how bad those guys have been so far.

Chris Getz would be a decent lead-off hitter.
Clayton Richard would be a reliable lefty out of the 'pen.
Tie between the impressive play of Josh Fields and Brian Anderson. I'm liking it though!

1. JD and Konerko would continue to be sluggers

2. Anderson would be our every day CF

3. Corky Miller would have a better batting avg. than AJ

1) I knew Mike MacDougal wouldn't last in the bullpen.

2) I "knew" Alexei would continue to be productive.

3) Scott Podsednik would return to the Sox.

1) I knew Josh Fields would be a beast at the plate and Alexei would start slow.
2) I knew Getz would struggle if forced to bat at the top of the order.
3) I had no idea Bartolo would be a reliable starter

1. That TCQ's wrist would be fine and it is.
2. that homefish would have a bunch of positive things to say about the sox....and not so much.
3. Colon could be so effective throwing nothing but 88 mph fastballs.

3) I had no idea ______________ could happen and it did.

1) I knew the Sox continue with their "all or nothing" offensive woes.

2) I "knew" the Sox would have glaring holes at 2B, CF, and the 4th and 5th spot in the rotation. Instead, Getz has been solid and Anderson has come around too (until their recent injuries, that is ). Colon has been impressive for us. Even Contreras - who has looked bad - looked promising in his last start.

3) I know it's still early, but I'm surprised that the AL Central is such a tight race between ALL teams. 1/2 game separates the top 4 teams. Even the 5th place Indians with their terrible start are only 3.5 back.

3) I had no idea ______________ could happen and it did.

1) Alexei would get off to a slow start, just like last year.

2) Richard would pitch well out of the pen, readying himself to take over the 5th spot in the rotation if (when?) either Bartolo or Jose gets injured.

3) Lillibridge was "that" fast! I wish he could hit .250 [sigh].

I knew the division would be a crapfest. And it is.

I "knew" Bartolo Colon would be a disaster, and thus far he has not.

I had no idea Carlos Quentin would hit so many home runs in such a short time.

1) Nobody in the division would be 5 games over .500 or better.
2) Jose Contreras was going to be impressive in April.
3) Bartolo Colon was going to be impressive in April.

3) I had no idea ______________ could happen and it did.

1) The Sox would get off to mediocre start - They did!

2) The starting pitching would be worse than last year - They're NOT!

3) The kids (Getz, Lillibridge, Anderson) could play - I had no idea!

TCQ hit more than .250 last year. Right now he is Thome with better hair.

Colon has been a bust? I guess I've been watching different baseball than you.

1. That Danks and Buehrle would continue to be strong.
2. That Fields would continue to catch the ball with his face. So far, he hasn't. Unlike Munch with respect to Derek Rose, I'm GLAD to eat crow and say that Fields has pleasantly surprised me so far. [Now, if he could try to not strike out every 3rd AB, I'd be as happy as a father of a toddler who just got potty trained.]
3. That Getz would perform to this level. I anticipated that he'd be able to catch the ball, but I didn't think he'd hit this well.

1. That MacDougal had no place in the bullpen.
2. Alexei would be moved to the leadoff spot.
3. Getz would hit over .300

1. Contreras would not be mentally ready to pitch despite physical progress
2. The Sox would be much more versatile offensively
3. Second base actually being a strength
