As much as I love The Big Hurt, he would be much worse of a base clogger than Thome.

My feeling is the bridges are burned between KW and Frank.

I bet Frank would be thrilled to play more. Who knows if he is in good enough shape to do so?

It makes me sad Frank isn't on a team, but I don't think he'd be the right option for the Sox.

Right, and what do they do when Thome gets back? Send Frank packing again?

Hey at least this dude probably has more credibility then Joe Cowley. However, they do work for the same publisher I believe.

I would love to see Frank back on the Sox!! He may be old and not hit as well as the Sox need their DH to perform, but he has been my favorite player since I can remember, and is easily my favorite Sox player of all time ...thank god I'm not the GM on the Sox :D:

If Thome goes on the DL, why not just bring up Allen?

If Thome goes down, it probably won't be for long. Considering how slow Frank has started out the past couple of seasons with spring training, its hard to imagine he could be of any immediate help. KW hates him. No way he comes back.

Come on, Cowley is the guy who reported today that Owens was packing up his stuff after the game today.

Oh wait, aren't the Sox going on a road trip now? Isn't packing your stuff part of preparing for a road trip?

Deep reporting there, Mr. Cowley......

If Thome has to sit, they'll probably just call up a pitcher and make do with Betemit. I'd rather see them bring up Flowers for a cuppa.

Just imagine the fallout if we did sign Frank and then waived him when Thome came off the DL.

The need that is created by Thome being out of the lineup is a left handed power bat, not another right handed slugger. Bringing Thomas back would not address that need.
I'm afraid that Betemit is the best option, unless they look outside of the organization.

The thought of bringing back Frank to immediately step into the lineup and contribute is comical since he hasn't seen real, live major league pitching in months.

Even if he's hitting in cages in Vegas everyday, it would take weeks for Frank to get back into shape and catch up with the rest of the league, if he's even able to go at all.

Cowley also stated that Owens was shaking hands with other players and White Sox Staff(not something you do if you plan on returning).

By this point I assume that the only cages Frank is seeing in Vegas are the ones with a dancer inside of it.

If the Sox needed a DH why wouldn't they just bring up Flowers or Allen.

Bring him on. I've been telling my friends since spring training that if Thome is out for an extended period and Frank is available then the Sox should bring him on.

That being said, KW's ego is too big for that to happen.

Flowers is not even close to ready, Allen would more likely be the guy.

But I agree, rotate the outfielders, give Betemit, Lillibridge and Pods more playing time.

If Big Jim's injury were more serious and he'd be out for months, then I wouldn't mind The Hurt back.
