Cheers :gulp:
Hopefully we'll be able to pick up another mid inning reliever closer to the all star break.

I trust, then, that he is also set to clear waivers.

Nice, about time they release him. Long overdue.

About three years too late.

I almost feel bad for the guy, but the failure was all his. If he could have gotten the ball over the plate, and done his job, he would have been a huge asset this year. He will sit at home and still collect millions for the year, so at least he can sleep at night knowing that he won't end up living on the street.

Do we care if he doesn't clear? If some hapless team grabs him, that's their headache.

He'll clear waivers and be back on the Knights.

No, they're giving him his unconditional release. He's gone.

He'll clear waivers and be back on the Knights.

If he clears waivers, he is released. These are unconditional release waivers. There are only two options: 1) another team claims him and takes on his salary, or 2) he clears waivers and is released and the Sox pay his remaining salary or termination pay...whatever is in his contract. These waivers cannot be pulled back (in other words, if another team claims him they HAVE to take him, the Sox cannot change their mind) and he cannot end up back in Charlotte.

Basically, MacDougal is no longer in the White Sox organization.

Ideally, you want another team to take him. That way, the Sox are no longer responsible for paying him.

I'm thinking he should go to the Twinks, you know,a set-up

Good luck to Mac. Maybe a change of scenery helps him? Not a bad guy - just couldn't deliver for us.
