If they do get it in it'll probably be after a delay.

I am heading up from Peoria today, hopefully around 2pm. Any updates are appreciated.

I'm holding out hope that the storms blow through before then. It would suck to lose a half price night game. Hoping to see Danks too.

We're having a work event in the Miller Lite Suite in the LF corner tonight. I have to be there, but there will also be time to watch the game.

First game of the season, Danks is pitching, let's keep the rain the hell outta here, please!

Being the optimist here, anyone have a shot in the dark guess for when the make up would be? Does Seattle come back to Chicago this year?

Well, you can look out your window starting real soon. Everything that's about to tag Peoria is heading toward Chicago about two hours later.

hope we can get the game in

There is a bit of scatter, so you never know

I know it is April in Chicago but we have had some atrocious weather for baseball so far this year. It seems there is a "Weather Watch" thread for every home game.:(:

Seriously. Not to mention we didn't have much luck with the weather in Detroit or Baltimore either.

Not looking good is it? I'm in town and trying to catch the game tonight for my first home Sox game in a few years. Can someone give me some false hope at least and say it might clear up?

I got the animated doppler going. I think it depends how fast this blob that's over Peoria now comes through. There doesn't look to be much behind it. I'd say its a 50/50 chance.

Edit: Just took a wider range look. There seems to be a bunch of storms lining up behind that Peoria one. Can't say for sure if they make it on the same trajectory.

You'd be right. The forcast for 7 PM is 50% chance of rain.

In my brain there is always a 50 percent chance for rain. It either rains or it doesn't.

I think that's why weathermen tend to predict this.

I don't know. Things look pretty scattered to me. I think it is going to be a long night with some delays but I bet they try and get this one in.

yeah, looks like we could be at the north end of this system, the brunt of it could miss us all-together.

More beers while waiting it out I guess?:gulp:

So do I have a 50% change of winning the lottery too?? Either I do or I don't.

If it makes you guys feel any better, the grounds crew in Denver has to clean snow off the field before tonight's game. :thud:

I wouldn't mind having a bit of a delay on the Sox game though. I have a late meeting so a delay might make it so I don't miss the first couple of innings. Yeah, I'm selfish like that. :D:

Yeah, I'm selfish like that. :D:The more it's delayed, the more it will overlap with the Blackhawks game. My remote is getting worn out lately.

:hijacked: I'm guessing that the rain you will be getting later in the week is this storm. It's a very wet snow (not typical for Denver) and if it was a few degrees warmer here, it'd probably be rain. So to answer your question, yes and no.

Looks like the first line's going to miss us, but that second line won't unless it somehow breaks up a bit at sunset when the temp drops.

On second thought, that second line building up southwest of peoria is nasty, fed by gulf air. It's hitting Quincy now (lots of red), so we'll probably get it at 8:30-9ish. The wind shift may push it south, but I won't bet on that.

Not looking too hot... We might get 4-6 innings in. I'm glad my tickets are under the club level underhang.

Well, if they haven't called it yet, I assume they are going to try to play (but you know what they say about those who assume). I'm honestly quite surprised they are gonna try to play it. That storm looks like it is heading right to Chicago and right over Chicago at game time.

Probably would have been good if this game started at 1:05. I am about 95% sure we don't get a full nine innings in tonight. Now we may get an official game in but not much more then that. And even a couple innings is doubtful based on the radar.

I really do no understand why. It's the first game of the series. They can play a double-header Tuesday or Wednesday as the weather is supposed to cooperate both days. I guess they really think they will lose a lot of revenue if they schedule a double-header.

Both the Sox and Seattle have an off day Thursday. They could play this game then and avoid a doubleheader, if that's their concern.

That system extends all the way out to Kansas and OK :o:

Very moranic not to have called this thing off 3-4 hours ago.

Someone appears to be looking to rake in concession sales.
