I see Swisher pitching in the game by the fourth if the NYY do not make it closer.

Yankee pitching this year has been absolutely pathetic. I don't see their offense, even with ARod coming back, able to put up enough to let the pitching get by. It is going to be a rough year in the Bronx if this keeps going.

That's what they get for having the Cubs as their first opponent in the new stadium. It might take a while for the stench to clear out.

Well,Wang has been pathetic and Joba not so hot but those two
should come around to go with Pettitte,Burnett, and Fat C.C. so
they should be ok in the long run.The Rays are still better than
NY & Boston but the Yanks won't go away. Now mind you it's not
bothering me at all that they're scuffling a little but i don't see
them having a rough year.Rough to me is the teams who will
be out of the hunt in August and the Yanks won't be in that group.

The Indians are leading 20-2 in the sixth inning right now.

But the powerful Yankee offense is never out of a game.

I can't help but laugh at this. I know it's early, but I wonder if Girardi makes it to the end of the season.

There might be two dead men walking managing in that game. I don't think Cleveland's roster is good enough to meet the expectations there, and Wedge will eventually be the fall guy.

I don't think Yankee brass will be too patient with Girardi, given the $$$ spent this offseason.

I wonder how much the people in the $2500 a game seats are enjoying today's game.

It's games like these that make me meander over to the ESPN scoreboard and read all the comments in the Conversation section. Lovely.

It's pretty hard to enter a game with a 28.93 ERA and actually have it go up, but Chien-Ming Wang accomplished it.

BTW, Wang has pitched 6 innings this season, and allowed 23 runs.

Apparently the crowd was once again chanting "We Want Swisher".

A new tradition at Yankee Stadium in the making?

Well, someone posted it after this (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=240831110) game, so I must say again... the Yankees just got a Cleveland steamer.

The problem is not the Tribe is that good, it's the Yankees are that bad.

The Tribe has scored 80 runs so far this year and have given up 80 runs so far this year.

Take away two blow-out wins over the Yankees, and the Tribe's run differential is pretty weak.

Yeah, look at these guys they're trotting out there to pitch; I don't know what the hell happened to Chien-Ming Wang but he is teeeeeerrible.

But then? Anthony Clagett? Edwar Ramirez? Jose Veras? Damaso Marte? Yeah, probably should have invested some of that $500 million this off-season in some real bullpen arms, *******s.

I think that the final score was 22-4 tribe. I did a double take when I saw the score just to make sure what I was seeing was correct. WOW!!! Actually as much as I dislike the Yankees I think that this is pretty funny. I think that after today there must be some buyers remorse going on in Yankee land.

I hope the Yankees are well out of playoff contention by August. Serves them right for crazy offseason spending.

Two Yankee records were made today, actually. Both of them about losing to the Indians, too. The Tribe is just a boogeyman team to the Yankees, kinda like the A's are to us (especially on the west coast).

True. But I have to tell ya it was still great to see the Yankees lose even at the expense of the Indians. Records and all.

They couldn't send Swisher to the mound again; they were out of position players to take his place. Besides, I don't think Girardi wanted to make it look like he thought it was funny.

Guys, the Yankees have played a grand total of twelve games. They are off to a slightly better start than the Rays and Red Sox. Can we stop jumping to conclusions every single time something happens this first month?

There's a master card commercial in here somewhere:

Two new starting pitchers and an infielder? $500 million.

New stadium? $1.5 billion.

Watching the home team give up 22 runs? Priceless.
