Nick Green made an absolutely tremendous play to rob Jack Cust of a hit.

Through 7 now.

Perfect through 7.

The Red Sox made an error, it is not a perfect game.

Geez, Boston has 2 of the last 3 no-nos already.

Ah, thanks. I didn't look at the box score, just his stat line.

67 pitches through 7, 50 strikes. Very impressive.

It'd suck pretty badly to be Mike Lowell right now. But it's better then a single I guess. I didn't see the play but in the box score he is credited for having the error.

I say Wakefield gets it done. I wouldn't be surprised if he walked one batter or something though considering you can't throw like 85% strikes for a whole outing that is just sick.

yahoo is calling it a perfect game.. :dunno:

Edit: They changed it

Not possible. It's either a single or an error. And MLB.com & NESN are saying the Saux have one error on Lowell.

Plus the BoSox need to stop batting.

Gallagher is Oakland's Macdougal? They're leaving him out there for an awful lot of abuse..

MLB Network just started covering it. I don't know if they are going to the game or not though?

edit - It's on MLB Network.

Nice play by Jacoby. I really like that kid. I wish we had him. He would solve two problems.

Poop.

I wonder who is the last knuckleballer to throw a no-hitter.

And...

Wakefield would have to have been the oldest pitcher to throw a no-hitter at 42 right?

Wasn't Nolan Ryan like 70?

Wakefield is one of the few Red Sox players that I like. But I still would rather see him lose.

When Hoyt Wilhelm was with Baltimore he tossed a no-hitter and I think Phil Niekro threw one to.

Wilbur Wood came close a few times if memory serves.

Nolan Ryan was 44 for #7. Randy Johnson holds the NL record as he was 40 when he threw his perfect game.
