Sorry but I would not have included Darr's death. Darr was a stupid idiot who got drove a car after he had been drinking. He also killed a friend who was in the car.

The same could also be said then for Josh Hancock. He was driving drunk and was on his cell phone when he smashed into a tow truck.

Either way, they're both on the list because they were active Major Leaguers when they died.

Why does being drunk make a death not tragic?

The Lymon Bostock murder and trial ended up with Indiana changing the insanity laws when it comes to murder.

It sure did. ESPN tried to interview his murderer last year (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=bostock&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1) and he refused to speak. But he's still living in Gary, IN. Who knows how that guy lives with himself.

Thanks for that link, Veeck. I didn't know about Lymon Bostock, and I'm so glad I read the article. What a horrible tragedy. What a neat man.

Because he was stupid to get behind the wheel of a car. He caused his own death. That to me isn't tragic.

I'm not going to get in a big debate about this, but you really don't know much about the guy so it's hard to say with absolute certainty anything about the guy. People make all kinds of mistakes throughout their lives, sometimes it costs them their life. A guy getting cut down in the prime of his life is usually pretty tragic.

Yes, a gut getting cut down in the prime of his life is tragic, if he is not the cause of his own death. I can say this for certain, Darr killed himself and another person becaue he drove drunk. Sorry but I don't feel sorry for Darr at all.
