A buddy of mine and I dropped by the new Yankee Stadium today for a team workout and it is quite impressive. Yet you can't justify $2500 for lower level seats. Not with 81 games on the ledger.

They are running ads in the NY Times and Wall St Journal daily and it appears they are not moving. 500 or 1,000 a game in NYC I could see but 2500?????

The really expensive seats are one thing - I understand that some people just have FU money and don't care.


What amazes me about their pricing is that Field Box Seats are $300+ each. That's sick. My Sox seats, box seats, just outside the premium lower box, are about $38 bucks per seat. The same seats at Yankee Stadium are $350.

For a family of 4 yankee fans, to catch a four game series, it costs less to fly to Chicago, get a hotel, eat out all meals...and your misc. expenses than to buy those same box seats even if you could get them at face value - which unless you are a season ticket holder, you likely won't get...

AMAZING.


That said, they have 35,000 season ticket equivalents sold. Simply amazing.
