I know it's Spring Training, but this is still pretty pathetic.

Imagine if it were the Sox. People here would be calling for everyone's head and predicting a losing season of epic proprtions.

That will happen, with reason or not, the first time this season the Sox lose a series to a major-league team this year.

No, the first game of the season we lose, blaming it all on BA.

There is a nice park in this town, and they did win the superbowl.

I'm driving to Chicago tomorrow, will be there for about a week, on the way back I should stop at PNC for a game.

I liked the comment below the story:

" If you would have told me they lost a game to a team of actual Manatees, I would have bought it." :rolling:

Since juco players are leigable for the draft after two years, will the Pirates pick any of these guys up?

Hopefully they won't be playing any CC teams when you are there.

Did anyone see the box score? It was a split squad game and they didn't have any of their best players there.

Now on the other hand, The Astros AA team actually BEAT an Astros team that had Pudge, Berkman, Wandy, Tejada, etc.

Wouldn't it be great if the Pirates were to somehow overcomes their suck and beat the Cubs out in the division??

That would be worth a chuckle or three.

To be fair their split-squad team had like 4-5 of their top 15 prospects.

I work at the science center, which is down the street. Don't come if it is against the cubs, because they get their moron fans here somehow. If it is any other team, come and see it, because it will be dirt cheap for a nice expirience. Just don't try and root for the Pirates, because you will be disapointed.

If you have a 62-year-old catcher you're bound to lose...

He's at the age where he needs steroids to breathe - not to hit HRs.

He was never really known for being much of a home run hitter or for taking steroids...

I feel bad for the Pirate fans, after Barroid left town...what a debacle. On the other hand, the have one uber-stud on the way(Pedro Alvarez, ESPN called him Ruthian:rolleyes:), and McCutchen/Tabata should be solid MLB starters. Who knows what their staff will look like in three years though? What happened to Gorzellany/Snell?

Hit me up on the PM when you are thinking about going. The beauty of the Pirates is the simplicity of getting great seats. At the end of the day, it's still baseball, and PNC is a terrific value.
