The "Voice of God" was John Facenda of NFL films. End of discussion.

I'm too lazy to find a link, but on my ESPN mobile alert, he said that he was not retiring and that the NY Times story was incorrect.

If true it is not too suprising. I don't think he did any games at all last year. Geez, the guy is almost 100, isn't he?

When I was at Yankee Stadium, the guy sounded very, very old and tired. Saying that, the Yankee's should get some loudmouthed New Yorker, with a think accent.

"Hey!, listen up. Next at bat, Number 2, fancy boy Derek Jeta"

The "voice of God" to me is Jim Riebandt, Bears PA announcer. His voice gives me the chills. "There's a timeout! Where? ON the field. Ohhh." "Robbbbie Goud the kicker, Brad Maynard the holder and Pat Manelly the Snnnnnaper." I was in heaven when he did a Sox game in 06. He should be the back up instead of this Tom "Paulie Konerko" Shaer asshat.

With Bob Sheppard's status in limbo, Yankees must address P.A. situation (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2009/04/03/2009-04-03_with_bob_sheppards_status_in_limbo_yanke.html)
