New Stadiums - It’s Going, Going ... Hey, Anybody See Where It Went? (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/01/sports/baseball/01seats.html?scp=7&sq=yankee%20stadium&st=cse)

That's pathetic. Who would want to sit there when they'd have a better view on their couch, for free?

That is not too much unlike the view in our park when you sit in the upper rows of Section 100 or 164 which are the small sections right next to the batter's eye.

I've sat in the middle of 164 for a game and can attest to that. You have to listen to the reaction of the crowd before you know what happened.

Never sat there. Never would either.

What's with the blue seats?! :o:

Haven't they been paying attention to our renovations threads?! :D:

I wouldn't even bother selling those seats.

Or buy them either.

Alright, but that's due to additions later on. Any park built these days should be free of obstructed views.

I meant I wouldn't sell them if I were the Yankees.

They're selling them for $5 each, and they're sold out for the season. And I bet most people who go and pay $5 for the seat will spend many times that on food and drinks each game. So the Yankees will do just fine.

For $5 some would go just for the atmosphere. That is a pretty cheap way into a ballpark.

That and you don't have to sit in them. Says you get access to some other section.

I sat in an obstructed view seat in the last row of the Upper Deck for Game 1 of the 2005 World Series. I paid substantially more than $5 for it. I will never regret doing so.

You're not missing half the field in those seats.

While I think Citi Field is beautiful and I LOVE the homages to Ebbets Field (New Yankee Stadium is UGLY) Teams can take their quirky-ass ballparks and shove 'em. This is the price you pay for ballparks like this. I had the same problems when I went to Camden Yards.....it was like a maze with dead ends and there were sighlines where I lost the ball because of obstructions.

I'm not saying I like the boring cookie cutter bowls of the past either but, to me, The Cell is perfect. It has near-perfect unobstructed views (with the exception of the sections next to the fan deck that were mentioned.) symmetrical lines and some old-school beauty added in with all of the renovations.
