No one in the AL Central is considered Premier?

Pretty silly.

I understand from a business standpoint completely, but from the actual baseball side of things it's kind of silly.

Well, they play each other 19 times a year, so not really.

Now, if it's late September and the Sox are in a dogfight for the ALC crown with either KC (doubtful), MIN (likely) or DET (hahaha), then they might choose to sell those tickets at a premier price (at least on a walk-up basis).

But as far as having the ALC rivals being sold at a premier price...well, that's half of the home games right there that would be sold at a markup. Add on the Cubs, Red Sox, and Yankees, and you got about 65% of the games at the Cell considered a "Premier" matchup. I can see why the Sox wouldn't want to do that, as that would price a lot of people out of coming to the park.

It has nothing to do with the baseball side of things - it is directly related to the market value of those tickets.

For real? I'm guessing the game would sell out before they had a chance to change the pricing. If not, the PR headache still might not be worth it.

Couldn't this also be the 35th anniversary of Einhorn and Reisndorf thinking up the idea of Sportsvision, thus lightening the wallets of die-hard Sox fans and alienating everyone else?

As SoxGirl4Life mentioned, it is Elvis Night. This has traditionally been a big ticket seller for the Sox for years. They go all out with an Elvis parade, fireworks, and they even have the flying Elvis's parachute into the ballpark. Apparently, there is a group of devoted Elvis fans that go to all the Elvis themed nights at various sporting events throughout the country too. You can always spot them at the game because they are the ones wearing the most elaborate Elvis costumes.

I don't ever recall a pricing tier changed on a game in mid season. Does anyone?

Also, it's a Friday night, correct? I think pretty much all the weekend games beyond April are categorized as Premier or Prime, regardless of what is taking place or who they are playing.
