I have heard some real bad things about this guy and how everybody hates him and he's such an ass and all, but from some of his comments after todays game I'm not sure. Granted it's a lot easier to sound ok after a win, but none the less.
``If you four-hit the White Sox, that's something else. But Adam can pitch like that, I've seen him do it,'' said Fick, who was Bernero's teammate in the minors.
``I was trying to go up the middle, but you never want to see that happen,'' Fick said. ``The way I was going (in a 1-for-18 slump), I thought the ball would bounce right to the third baseman.''
``He's got (guts) for staying in the game,'' Fick said. ``He's got my respect. He's a tough guy.''
