According to Scott Reifert, Contreras became an American citizen on Tuesday, so congrats to him!

He probably used a different country on purpose, as if he got an American visa first, he would have been subject to the draft.

I am quite certain that he had a work visa all this time, otherwise he would not have been allowed to stay in the United States longer than 90 days.

Right, I just mean that initially he emigrated to a different country so as not to be subject to the draft.

What draft?

The MLB draft. You know, the one we pick players from, like Beckham last year.

I think he thought of the military draft. I did too. If people don't preface what draft it is i.e (MLB/NFL/NBA), I automatically assume the military draft. Don't know why.

And Hawaii provides all that Tahiti would have to offer.
