Headed back to Detroit to get his shoulder examined, due to tightness.

The Tigers pitching has a lot of question marks to begin with. If this is serious, along with Willis still struggling to find the plate, the Tigers pitching could be in a lot of trouble.

Great news for us.

C'mon. Cheering for injuries to opponents is crass. The Tribune reported today that Bonderman's shoulder is fine.

That's good news. Bonderman is one of the most over-rated pitchers in the League.

No one is cheering for his injury, he was just reacting to the news.

That said, Bonderman's career numbers are 5-9 with a 4.40 ERA in 15 starts against the Sox, so I'm not sure I mind facing him.

Bonderman is still "potential." Methinks he's a bust.

Everyone here in the local media thinks Bonderman will win 15+ every year and finally crack that ERA below 4.50, he's just not that good, sure he got called up when he was young because Detroit had to pitching in 2003, but like someone already posted...totally overrated

When Bonderman's on, he's on. Not overrated at all, just encountered unfortunate injury issues the last two seasons.

The guy was on the cusp of fulfilling that potential for real. In '06, at age 23, he went 14-8 with a 4.08 ERA and nearly a K per inning in over 200 innings for a team that went to the WS. Then through July in 2007, he was outstanding. By the middle of that month, he was 10-1 with a 3.50 ERA. From there on out he went 1-8 with a 7.78 ERA before they shut him down in early September. Something was obviously wrong with him, and that carried over to last year and apparently into this year. It's sad to see.

Problem with Bonderman even when he is healthy is the fact that he can't get of the first inning without giving up a run.
