A great headline, from the Sun-Times, after the 1996 World Series, "Yankees Burn Atlanta."

Shouldn't be anywhere else.I don't know. Atlanta has made some nice additions and Griffey could have been a nice presence. But he probably should stay where he can DH.

Seattle is about the farthest he can get from his family in Orlando. Atlanta made quite a bit of sense.

I hope that he plays a year or two there and retires where his career began. I am happy that we shared part of his legacy on the south side. He had what was an untainted (hopefully) career, and produced some of the greatest moments in baseball history. A real superstar in every sense of the word, I hope he ends his career well in Seattle.

Great signing, this puts the Mariners on pace to win 64 games.

Great move. The M's are gonna win 60 and still sell out a ton of games.

No doubt, Griff back in Seattle plus Ichiro, full house alot of the time.

I bet Griffey and his agent as little as 3 years ago probably thought Tampa Bay was a lock for him to be the place to end his career. Who would have thought the Rays would be WS contenders and talent depth that doesn't require an aging marquee DH to sell tickets.

Well, if they didn't land Pat Burrell, he still would've been a good fit there.
