I dont care for the USPS tracking. Its Feb 20th and the last thing it says for me is that it has been accepted on Feb 18th. This is not isolated, either. Oftentimes its not even updated till after I receive a package.

All depends on the carrier. That's why I make a point of returning my scanner as soon as I arrive back, so the CPU can work on downloading all my scans and get them into the system quicker.

Now, these books are shipped media mail, meaning there should be two scans only; one when it was received at the processing center, then of course when its scanned arrived at your home.

And as far as the book damaged (mine had a bit of a crease on one corner) its a softcover book placed in a soft envelope. Things like that are sadly going to happen. The USPS didn't crease them, gravity and force did. Even if packed in a hard box with packing peanuts stuffed around it, things do shift in shipping.

I appreciate that you do what you can to help out the tracking, but nevertheless its a bit disappointing as a service in general. I don't begrudge the post office any damages to the book unless it looks extraordinarly harsh. My mail lady looks out for my stuff so I'm all about having a good relationship with the USPS.

Hopefully he has something about Beckman's temporarily forgetting who Harold Baines was. I saw the little spring training clip on Sports Nite last night and was in stitches. Cora had a little fun with him in front of a bunch of other players.

#63 out of 222!

Mine was damaged in the bottom left corner. Bit of a bend/crease about an inch long, and the bottom of the spine was dented as well.

Book is awesome though. Carl has done an awesome job with these over the years, and I was more than happy to give him a couple bucks for all the work he has shared with us.

Carl's obviously been a little slow updating the new comic, but in case you are suffering a withdrawal or didn't realize his other strip was still going, Smells Like Mascot has lots of good stuff and most of it has a Sox theme...

Anyone know if Carl's been taking a vacation? There hasn't been a new Palehose 9 since March 8th, his contribution to the "Big League Stew" site, which was supposed to come every Wednesday, hasn't been updated since March 11, and his most recent "Mascot" was Friday the 20th.

It's not as though there's been a plethora of funny/interesting sports stories for Carl to play with, and as a fellow artist I certainly know how it feels to be blocked, so I'm hoping he and his family are just enjoying some time away. But as a fan of his work who's gotten spoiled by my weekly "fix" for the last few years, I'm in serious withdrawal.

I think we'll still see non sequitur-type Sox strips in SLM, whereas PH9 will follow the railroad-themed story. Assuming, of course, that Carl hasn't already grown bored with the concept; I for one think it has tons of possibilities, but he hasn't gone back to it since March-freaking-eighth!
