He had a tentative two year deal with the Rangers and it was nixed because of this.

I think I just read, he is going to have the surgery and it will keep him out until August. Here is my question, why didn't he do this earlier and try to be healthy at the beginning of the year? He probably would of gotten a contract.

SIGN HIM UP. We can have a 3 man rotation for a 4th SP slot with Colon-Sheets-Contreras and now the odds are GREAT 1 is healthy when we get to the playoffs. If we get 2 healthy we could be unstoppable!

It'll be sad if Sheets can't find a team. I've always liked him and if he's not on a roster, it'll just be good talent lying around.

In a hospital bed. In this economy it's hard to justify paying so much money to a guy who might not play a game this year.
